1973 Ambassador

I recently purchase a 1973 Ambassador with a rear bath. The black water tank valve leaks and is in the rear key locked compartment which I need to replace but what do I need to do to get access to the valve screws - plumbing and the rear bumper limit access. Do I need to drop the under skin?

Thanks

Seen some looks but no responses - anyway did some calling around and was told I need to drop the under skin. Also I went to buy a replacement valve and they were out - luckily - because once I told them an airstream the repairman asked was the valve black or white (mine was white) which means it was a Thetford valve. So I ordered that on-line. I will let you know how the project goes after this weekend.

Black Water Valve

Round 2

Dropping the skin did not work either. The valve is surround by the tank on 3 sides and within 2 inches of a metal sheeting where the screws are with no bottom access. I now think you could use a 90 degree screw driver or a ratchet screw driver but the screws are very rusty and I am not sure you could get enough forward force into the screw to break them loose. So next step will be to either try that or drill a hole through the metal sheeting - it is not a support - any other suggestions please let me know it will be two weeks before I get back to it.
