Window seals and clips for '66-'67 globetrotters

It appears that the window seals and window clips are somewhat unique for 66-67 Globetrotters. The glass have no metal frame, it is secured by metal clips at the bottom, and the seals are applied directly to the glass. I want to replace the seals and the clips, but am likely to have an ulcer for lack of instructions or tips on going about it. Your comments (other than "good luck, sucker!" are greatly appreciated!

Go to Vintage Trailer Supply.com as they have a variety of those clips to suit all of the various configurations. Trailers with original glass are one size, original glass with SS trim is another, modern glass is another & of course modern glass with SS trim is another. Simply bending clips that are too large to begin with can be problematic.

These windows are also called "Corning windows" and the mechanism that holds the window closed are Phillips(no replacement that I know of).

The seals (gaskets) were never applied to the glass.

They were always attached to the window frame, wich is the part that is riveted to the shell.

Also, there is a far superior gasket upgrade that is avalable.

Thank you. The info noting that the gasket was not supposed to be attached to the window glass is a bit unsettling. I guess someone did a boo-boo on mine. I am amazed that I don't have more than the two minor leaks that I do have. I appreciate your input.

You have been a tremendous help. I have two more questions for you.
1- I am interested in the up-graded gasket, where is a good source?
2- Will I need to remove the glass to install the gasket?

Inland RV has the gasket and so does Vintage Trailer Supply.

No - you will not need to remove the glass to install the gasket. Do not use steel wool to clean the area - steel fragments will get into the aluminum and discolor it later when it rusts, use brass wool. VTS has the new upgraded clips for your windows. Mechanisms for the openers are a premium and hard to find.

I purchased my replacement (missing) windows from Inland RV and they also had gaskets.

No.

66, 67, and 68 windows are far removed from those in 65.

You can however, use the hollow "D" gasket for the windows and doors.
