My 1966 20' Airstream Globetrotter Arrived Today!

Well it was a long wait but my 1966 20' Airstream Globetrotter arrived today about 2pm from it's 2000 mile tow from Illinois to Seattle.

No issues and glad I bought new tires and repacked the bearings for the trip. Shippers had a nice diesel 4x4 pickup and no problem going thru the snowy mountains.

Has nice exterior skin, solid original floors, good axles and nice original interior walls. Cushions are missing and I'll redo the ugly brown linoleum floor covering.

have some windows to replace and ordered the original style curved glass from VTS which arrived 2 days before the trailer did.

**Trailer came with the original owners manual - Of the 7 or so Airstreams I have owned, not one had an owners manual! I'll post more photos soon.

**Anyone out there have a Bargman L100 or 200 for sale at a reasonable price?? Door has the original Airstream deadbolt which works well but door handle has been replaced with oddball that is missing innards.

Congrats! Bill, I & Mikko, completed a 3 month journey to Maine & back to Phoenix, last summer, totaling 10,800 miles. Mikko & I followed that up with a trip to Chicago and back for my high school reunion in October. My first year of retirement is exactly what I hoped it would be. What a pleasure to travel in our "Dreamcatcher", 1962 19' GT. She is a joy to tow, to park and for resting our weary bodies! My advise to you, and all Vintage Lovers, is to remodel and restore to your own needs and desires and she will fulfill your dreams.

Congrats on your new 66 Globetrotter. I love our 66 Tradewind without air conditioning on top. It makes incorporating an inverter a lot simpler.

Congrats!

That Airstream looks SWEET! message me if you want cheap interior pieces (dinette, couch, twin beds) as I plan to extract these from my 1984 excella (great condition) and will have nothing useful to do with them! Just a thought! Best of luck on the renovation, I hope it goes as smoothly as possible!
