I think I found a mid 60s Globetrotter!

I was on my way to the store this weekend and decided to take a detour and check out a rummage sale. I was not paying attention on the way back to the main road and took a wrong turn which led me to this little gem! I plan to stop back today and see if I can make contact with the owner. I think it is a Globetrotter. Hopefully I can buy it. Does anyone have a hint as to what the market value is for these? I expect the inside is trashed but the exterior looks pretty nice.
Thanks Steve

I have been looking at some pictures and I think it might be a 65 do to the lack of clearance lights ...or was that and option that some had and some did not?

Looks like a 1967 Safari. One of the greatest of all time.

Could be worth up to $5000 even as a rebuildable core.

Good luck

I stopped at the place and it belongs to the guys stepdaughter she bought it 20 years ago parked on the property got everything hooked up and never used it once. He said she paid $5,000 for it 20 years ago and he's sure she would want at least that much for it. He also said it's not for sale but that he's moving pretty soon and she's going to have to do something with it so I might have a chance. I left my name and number and will just bide my time waiting for a phone call lol.

Run!!!

Sprouty, unless you have a lot of time, energy & money to spend, you'd do yourself a favor to read what other Airstreamers have experienced when purchasing a trailer in this condition. This looks like our '65 GT (which has running lights all around). We made the mistake of buying our Airstream with a lot of background knowledge, but that flew out the window when we found a trailer we thought was something we could live with. Six years & more than $30k later, it's almost where we wanted it to be when we bought it!

BTW, you can see a few pics in the Member Photos section.

I think that is very sound advice. I will give it a very carefull in inspection if I get a chance to look at it. I have some experience working on these beautiful campers and have a good idea of what I am getting in to.

I don't understand how people end up with so much money wrapped up in their airstreams. I am doing a very comprehensive restoration. The only original pieces I am reusing are: shell, frame, oven, toilet, tanks, and windows. I'm replacing it all: belly pan, floor, cabinets, axle, wiring, plumbing, etc. I have $5000 in so far, including all the crazy tools, and seriously have every part I need sitting in the house ready. I expect another $2000 at the most. I'm hoping I'm not missing something! haha

What you have a photo of here is exactly what I have only mine is older: '62 Safari 22.

I thought it looked smaller then my 72 argosy 22 ft and my 65 Safari 22 and I did not look at the tag by the door because it was covered up or measure it. I guess unless they decide to sell it make no difference.
