Hi All, I would like to know how to tell if the Constavolt conveter is working right or not on my 65 GT. All lights are working except the overhead and the light under the cabinet up front when on shore power (120v). I'm not much of an electrician but it seems I have a short somewhere. Also, I blew fuses on the little panel underneath the bed when I tried to install the new battery I just purchased. There are two fuses there and both are blown. Anyone ever have this problem? Any help will be appreciated.

You can use a multi-meter to see what your converter is outputting at the terminals.
As for replacing batteries; Whenever I hook up or disconnect the batteries I make sure that the 12 volt master disconnect inside the trailer is OFF. I take extra special care to make sure the battery wires aren't touching anything that may cause an arc, spark, and short. When hooking up a battery I always attach the positive terminal first and then the negative. Reverse that when disconnecting a battery; remove the negative wire and then the positive. This will keep the arcing and sparking down to a minimum.
Hopefully somebody else can give you a lead on your two non-functioning lights. I am assuming you have already checked to make sure the bulbs aren't burnt out and they are making good contact with the socket. The multi-meter would also come in handy troubleshooting to see if you are getting 12 volts at the non-functioning lights.

Were the fuses BHF's?
Big Honking Fuses, in Airstreams, start at 40 amps. Those fuses are sometimes categorized as "BFF's" (sorry, can't seem to remember what it stands for )
Anyway, if both BHFs are blown, it usually means someone installed the battery backwards at least once.
Thanks Guys, I plan to get back out on the GT late this afternoon. Will do some more checking as you have explained. Gee Whiz its 98 degrees on my shaded deck right now (2:06pm). I'm having to kinda take it slowly now after back surgery and a bout with kidney cancer and being past retirement age does not help either!! I will probably have to take the GT to bro-in-law as I don't know how to operate a multi meter even though I read the instructions ... as I said I'm not very knowledgeable in electricity.
