'69/'70 GT Black water tank size

We have had some problems lately with a leaky black water tank. Does any one know the original size (gals & dimensions) of the black water tank in a 69/70 GT with the fiberglass bathroom located on the street side? Can the tank be replaced from the rear compartment?

Thanks,

gnmostream

The tanks for a 21 foot Airstream, are no longer available for the 1969 or 1970 trailers from Airstream.

However, they are available after market.

A word to the wise though, there is a big difference in that from between those 2 years.

Best you have the trailer serial number handy when you decide to place an order.

Also, that tank fits above the floor.

Andy,

Thanks for the info. I do not think the current tank is stock because it is supported up from the floor with a couple 2 1/2" boards. Do you know if the stock tank sits on the floor and can you replace it from the rear compartment?

Thanks,
gnmostream
