Zipdee flat fold chairs
We just received our pair of std. width flat fold chrome chairs from Zipdee. They were ordered 4/19/11 and were here on 4/29/11. Price is $94 / chair. The color was a new one and was $18.80 / pair. W / shipping, total was $225.80. They are so nice to store just inside the trlr. door in the foldup desk / cabinet. They are also very comfortable !!

Sounds great! Being relatively new to AS, I would love to see a photo of a Zipdee chair. Not sure exactly what they are.

ZipDee chairs
We bought our 30' Classic in 2004, and two ZipDee chairs were standard equipment. They are stored just inside the door. They are quite comfortable, but I am reluctant to leave them outside, like I do with our $25 Coleman chairs, for fear they might grow legs! On the Airstream site, they now cost $101.56 each + shipping. Soooooo....we only use them when we have guests!

Same here - but they match the awnings so well.

Here's a few pic's of the Zip Dees...enjoy
picture of zip dee chair - Google Search
Talk about a quality product with 'staying' power...we bought our 78 AS in mid 2008, and ordered two Zip Dee chairs from AS...The blue stripe pattern used for the chairs matches our 30+ year old awnings exactly...

Thanks, Mexray! Ours look like the chair in the upper left. Our awning is a solid dark blue, like the main color on the chair.

In the standard width, they can be a bit tippy on rough ground due to the radius on the legs where they meet the ground. The bar across the front and the back make matters even worse on really rough ground. They do fold flatter than most competitive chairs and therefore are easy to store.

There are two really nice things about them: they're spring loaded, so they STAY folded or unfolded, and at least as of a year ago or so, you could order them with a very wide vareity of Sunbrealla fabrics, to match your awning, your unit's pain scheme, your old neck tie, etc. Oh, and they seem to last more or less forever.

That and at large rallies there are usually several matching chairs! A lot of people (ourselves included) will take their ZipDee chair backs and have them embroidered with their names at the International Rally or other embroidery shop. The look great and are less likely to go home with someone else.
If you order directly from ZipDee you can pick any Sunbrella fabric...we opted for a solid teal that coordinates with our awning. Having them be a different color than the standard "Blue Fancy" stripe makes them easy to pick out of a crowd. Birdy's awning is different though so we will be getting a new set of slings soon.
