We have named our new 2010 27' Flying Cloud the Silver Swan - any Trixie Belden fans out there?

Once we decided we were going to buy her, the thought of naming her was a constant, as we name every vehicle, trailer, and canoe we own. But nothing seemed right. Once we got to Mobile to pick her up, and were working on her that first day to get her ready for the 1300 mile trip home, Kay started saying things like: "What’s next Little Girl?" "Does that feel better Little Girl?" "Let's tape up this hatch now Little Girl." Her name, Little Girl, stuck...

Adventure is out there!

We're new to the forum AND to Airstream ownership. It's the beginning of an adventure in many ways. Our user name reflects the main characters from the latest Pixar movie... and we've decided to continue that theme with a name for our new silver suppository: "The Spirit of Adventure" because "Adventure is out there!"

my neighbor has dubbed ours "the Kate Spade purse". The first time she saw our little airstream she shouted "that's as cute as a Kate Spade purse". We are still trying to decide if we will keep the name.

Our airstreams name is Arwen , an Elven princess of the Lord of the Rings. My father built a wooden sailboat which we had named Eowyn, also of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, so it seemed only fitting!

Love the names...

I (temporarily) named ours the Shiny Turd because, since it was summer when we got her, the first thing we did when we got it home was polish the outside. I told my wife she has to give it a different name before I finish or I am pinstriping "The Shiny Turd" right down the sides. I am hoping she picks a good one :P

Nickname is just "Condo...."

Can't believe we haven't replied either...

Ours is Condoluminum, which is artful contraction of Condominium and Aluminum... I suppose British pronunciation would be "Condoluminium..." Prior Nomad Box trailer was "Casa de Cardboard" when kids were young (their friends laughed and it helped keep them from swinging on doors or bouncing on beds and breaking the thing..). I was leaning towards "Casa de Beercan" and family vetoed idea, and came up with Condoluminum as more respectable.. Describing it as vacation Condo on wheels made out of aluminum helps explain concept to people who've never seen one...

After many years of sailing and cruising the coastal waters of Fl. and the Bahamas we purchased our 2000 Land Yacht 31 motorhome and named her YachtSea . Now we are looking forward to to some land cruising adventures.

We named ours the Silver Pearl in honor of Wayne's Mother. She's a real gem.

'Ari' is a somewhat common name meaning "Eagle" or "fast flying one" - an old Icelandic/Old Norse name

Our first Airstream, 63 Safari was...."The Frantic Banana"

For whatever reason the DW said absolutely not when I suggested "The Frantic Banana II" for the Classic....something about getting older and no longer being applicable...

We have named our 1968 Caravel "The Fawlty Tow-er" in honour of our favourite British funny man, John Cleese.
