Susan B

My Dad's boat was the Goldy B, his truck was the Goldy B (mom), my truck was the Susan B and now the camper is the Susan B (da wife). All ships are named for women, no?

We have been camping in the Adirondacks all our lives.

A Native American translation for Adirondack...."Cloudsplitter", somehow the word just seems to fit, Airstream splits the clouds.

When we got our trailer, we expected to travel with our little malti-pek. However she died (put down) not long after we got the trailer. So it seemed only appropiate to name her sempi2. Hence my name on the forum. Her name Sempi came from semper-fi (always faithful). Rusty Rivet got her for my surprise Christmas gift after I was suffering "empty nest" syndrom, after our baby left for the Marines.

Wow - I don't think we have ever replied to this thread! 1. Buttercup - the movie "Princess Bride" - Princess Buttercup. 2. Wally 54 - It is a dedication to the Wally Byam spirit and a 1954 Airstream whaletail... Wally 54. 3. Airtini - as a 34.5 foot Airstream it is anything but tiny. But it was so cute, we could not pass that up!

I have thought about naming our 68 Caravel but thus far have not decided what it will be. However I'm leaning towards Basil the Fawlty Tow-er.

I love it! I am English, came to Alabama in 1992. We or should I say I named ours Bonnie as in "Bonnie wee lass" I was born in the very northeast of England by the Scot Border so very familier with the Scottish lingo. Susan

We named ours lothlorian because that is the name of our property we will retire on. We keep the name and the goal in front of our face so we do not lose sight of it. Lothlorien is the name of the community for wood elves in the book lord of the rings. We have 10.5 acres by a National Forest. Four more years and I will be moving there.

Wife likes the name of Lothlorian.

Our younger daughter, who graduated last spring with a degree in classical studies, has named our trailer Clarissima, which means "brilliant" in Latin. Its going to require more polishing though before she's more than a pretender. But, on the way home from the Can Opener earlier this month she gave us a hint of reflections to come.

Whirlaway

My AS is named for my dad's favorite horse "Whirlaway" the Triple Crown winner in 1941. It's a tribute to a wonderful man who suffered from Alzheimer's disease and was unaware of this tribute.

We named ours the Silver Tuna (or just The Tuna). The name goes back to time spent on the Sea of Cortez trying to land the big fish…the ultimate tuna, the unattainable, unimaginable biggest honkin’ tuna! As things progressed, eventually the name became synonymous with very wealthy clients I was trying to land. Sometimes, I’d hook a Silver Tuna, sometimes I had to eat bait. Nowadays, the Silver Tuna is under restoration and has turned the tables by hooking me. Eventually, we hope to coexist under less combative circumstances.

My wife wanted to use ours for weekend get-a-ways and heading south to the beach and knew my favorite artist is Jimmy Buffett so she came up with the name "Changes in Latitudes", i.e. "I took off for a weekend last month...If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane ". I liked it so it stuck. I call it the "Changes" for short.

I'm stumped.

I've tried to come up with a few names in the past, and we just couldn't start calling it anything aside from "The Trailer" without feeling silly.

My sister and I each had some nice Vespa scooters named Phoebe and Gigi - but those girls have found other families. I've now got an unnamed Ninja and trailer.

Is that bad luck?

I really should try harder...

Tillie and Gloria

I have two:

Tillie is my 1967 26' Overlander. She weighs just over 4,000 lbs, so I named her after that 60's song: "Two Ton Tillie"

Gloria is my 1953 17' Clipper. She is without any amenities; no water tanks, no bathroom, no furnace, no battery power. Gloria is short for "Glorified Tent".

Ours is LOVE. Because all you need is love (Beatles). Also L.O.V.E. = long oval vintage escape... or I'm sure in the heat of restoration there will be other acronyms.
