Yep, Broke that record!

So it was 118 degrees at the Phoenix airport yesterday at a little past 4PM. The old record for that date was 112. So we really smashed it. And we haven't seen a 118 since 1995. In fact since records have been kept (1895) yesterday's high was amoung the top 11 temps recorded for Phoenix. The humidity was about 10%. It's usually higher this time of year. After the temp peaked there was a storm and the temp went down swiftly.

Funny thing, it felt hot. However, not really much different than 108.

It is about 90 here right now, with about 65% humidity. Wife and I have been working on an aluminum patio awning all morning. We have taken several breaks, and my t-shirt is completely soaked! I think both of us have drank a gallon of water each!

Hook up and come to the Redwood Coast. Temps here today will be a balmy (for us) 66 degrees. Cool morning fogs that sometimes stick around all day or maybe break up by mid day only to return by evening. Summer? What's summer? Oh right, that time of year when it doesn't rain... Jamie

Action,
I unfortunately had to drive all around the valley yesterday (it was a high pollution advisory day and last chance before the weekend errands day) and the temps were all over the thermometer. All above 100 of course. When the storm blew in I was headed to Scottsdale and the outside temp dropped close to 7 degrees in minutes. It is also humid by AZ standards (~20%).

103F in my backyard right now. Very unusual for us up here in the hills above Laguna Beach. There's usually a decent Ocean breeze. Not this week, though.

91 degrees,1 block from the ocean. Yeah yeah, I know, but for Santa Cruz that's HOT! Normally it would in the low 70s.

I missed it!

We returned this evening after spending four days at Big Lake in the white Mountains of Arizona. It got close to 80 degrees in the daytime and into the fifties at night. Rained a little everyday too! On the drive back to the valley my wife kept asking, how long untill we retire?
