Way back when they had just created that national park, some idiot easterner in top hat and tails poked a grizzly bear cub with his umbrella. Momma bear promptly relieved him of the umbrella and his life too. Too bad these dipsticks didn't have a similar Darwin moment.

Luckily, Yellowstone is an exclusive Federal jurisdiction national park. So they will be found, will be prosecuted and will face a variety of misdemeanor charges in the US District Magistrate Court in Mammoth Hot Springs - in Yellowstone (where park HQ is). Usual minimums are $500 or 6 months, or both for each charge (and each person). And the $5000 "donation" is nothing more than a promise on a Facebook page. And, while they were (sadly) from Canada, if they choose not to appear, they will be flagged in the US system and it will pop up anytime they present their passports at a US border crossing. It was not only a senseless, self-promoting act, but had big consequences.

Sorry, I read something too quickly and got that wrong.

They have their names, the company they work for and a vehicle description. It should take long.

I guess with record numbers of visitors you get record numbers of jerks.

Proof that " STUPID " doesn't stop at the border. Police have used breathalyzers for years for alcohol intoxication. Perhaps we could come up with a stupidalizer. Hmmmm.

Well, they made it across the border early on Tuesday before the arrest warrants were issued.

Their FB page is a mess. Folks are clearly not in a forgiving mood, with 3,650 negative comments and counting. https://www.facebook.com/sundayfundayz/

Oh, and another recent article:https://tetongravity.com/story/news/...nal-park-abuse

Their website is also offline, so they're not exactly having a "SundayFunday."

This is news... Do you know for a fact that they crossed back into Canada or is it just speculation?
Thanks

This probably should be posted on April 1st...

...but Yellowstone wasn't open then. Although I'm sure stupidity was happening, just not making the news feed.

For willful destruction and/or doing what these jerks did the min should be 5K AND 6 month prison with no early release period.

hope when they try to cross back to canada they figure out it's not cool to mess with mother nature or the US Park Service..
