Wow, I'm stoked!!

Is that a word outside California?

I bought a new to me 2000 25' Safari Six Sleeper today! It's in great shape, almost flawless.

A year ago August, we were travelling home from camping in the northern Sierras when I had to make a fairly rapid stop due to traffic. The semi-truck behind me didn't stop in time. It totaled the Safari and I had the "pleasure" of educating myself on the perils of insurance. Not fun.
We looked around and in October '06 found a really cool 1972 21' Globetrotter that had been extensively gone through. It is a bit smaller than we were used to and we've recently been talking of buying a bit bigger again.

Yesterday I clicked on the classified section here on the forum - something I seldom do. There was a nice trailer with the exact floorplan as our other Safari but 2 years newer. It happened to be in the town that I work and when I called the man, it turns out that we know each other professionally. I was able to work things out today so I could buy it and it's sitting outside here at the fire station.

Unfortunately for me, the Globetrotter will be for sale in the next couple of weeks, I wish I could afford to keep them both. I'll post it in the classifieds when I place it on the market after the holidays.

Now I just wish I were camping instead of at work. Oh well.
Thanks for listening,
Dave

Thanks John.
Yeah the hardest part was making sure the finances would be OK until I get the GT sold, and finding someone to cover work for me so I could get it. Good thing I did, there was another guy that wanted it - he called while I was hooking it up.

Good for you! That Globetrotter will go quick. Too bad you can't collect a whole handful.

Yes, that is a word outside California if you wereat least 18 in 1968.

Stoked - Stored. Oh wait ... not a game thread. But 'stored' is in your future and I don't think they'll put up with parking the hook 'n' ladder outside for long. Congrats Dave!

Urban Dictionary: stoked

"stoked" - adjective - to be "stoked" is to be completely and intensely enthusiastic, exhilirated, or excited about something. those who are stoked all of the time know this; being stoked is the epitome of all being. when one is stoked, there is no limit to what one can do.

also, "stoke" - verb - one can "stoke" oneself out by facing challenges or by revving up an engine within oneself to accomplish that which one desires.

*being too stoked just means that you're still not stoked enough*
"Man oh man am i stoked for our upcoming snowboarding trip!"

"Perchance you'd like to stoke yourself out and ask that girl out!"

Sometimes it pays to be LUCKY doesn't it??? It sounds like you checked the classifieds at the right time!! Reading the various responses brought back such pleasant memories - we traveled the Sonoma & Napa Valleys last spring checking out lots of wineries with my wife's three nephews and their families plus her brother and his wife from Germany. We ended the week long visit staying along the Russian River. What a great trip. Didn't see many ASs during our visit, however.
Good luck with your new baby - many, many happy miles of travel!

Thanks all, hope to get photos up soon but it's a standard Safari.

See, that's why I wish I could keep them both. The Safari is what works out for us and it's a good floor plan for us, but. It's standard.
The GT is all polished, inside is great, gets all the attention, etc. That's the one that makes you want to post photos.

OTOH, it may be a "standard" model but it's NOT an SOB!

I'm still stoked this morning.

What great news Dave! You scored with luck and timing.

It may be standard now but I know you'll make it unique very soon. This really is a great day.
