Congrats on your new Airstream. The anticipation almost has riveled that of a new little one. This has been a real interesting gestation period. I have enjoyed being along for the ride.

Dan

I just read this elsewhere and thought it applied:

The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten. Buy the best and cry only once!

I've been today inspections closely around all roof units and suck for any leaks - non so far

Filled sinks then drained - no leaks under sinks - checked hot water and water at all interior sources - will do tomorrow

Bathroom shower curtain seems to not leak at door when I used it

Toilet seems to flush great - have not figured out the buttons exactly - there are two - the toilet has a macerater pump between it and the tank

There I a drain outside below where the toilet is - when flushing the toilet - some water exits this drain - it is a small diameter PVC pipe pointing strait down and no valve to operate - I'm confused about what that is - will ask dealer tomorrow

Fantastic fan for tonight keeping temp and humidity perfect - getting ready to pass out

Congrats! A well deserved unit. The dealer probably doesn't know what hit them, you walked in far better prepared than anyone to inspect your unit.

As far as cost goes, When we had our 2003 classic I always told people who asked that it only cost $6,800 but you had to order it on line pick it up at the factory. But you were responsible for your own sales tax and registration. Therefore avoiding the huge dealer mark up and shipping. Just like cars. I wonder how many called airstream to find out how to get the discounted price. Depending on my mood I would expand the the story to match their belief. Childish, but oh so fun.

Hope everything comes out ok in the inspection! Looking forward to bumping into you some day on the gulf coast.

Congratulations on getting your new Airstream.

I hope your expectations were surpassed!

That saleslady is the same one who sold me my Interstate almost two years ago. What impressed me about her at the time is that she had gone on the Airstream Factory Tour, and had an entire spiral-bound notebook just chock full of info-bites on just about every on-board system.

A few of the tidbits of info were wrong or incomplete, but overall, she was the best-informed RV salesperson— for any brand— I had met to date. Or since.
