Wild weather. . .

We just took shelter in our new storm room, after hearing that a half mile wide tornado was headed due east toward us. About the time we were gathering supplies, one of our sons and his family came through the door to shelter along with us. Luckily for us, the storm went north a few miles, but damage occurred. One of the reporting stations could not broadcast because they were drowned out by the hail storming their roof. Yesterday, wild hail, fist sized, walloped cars and trucks near Home Depot in Columbia. I tremble for our Gypsy since we do not yet have her under cover. Here's to sunny skies and zephyr breezes for all the forum as we enter this stormy Spring season. ~G We know Jimmianna encountered storm damage and we hope she has been able to manage the damage How are the rest of you out there so far?

Glad to see you are okay and the Airstream is okay. We are in Mississippi and it has been wild here the last few day's. Thursday we had 50 mph winds and heavy rain, a tornado touched down about 15 mins from our house also. We also worry about Peppy he is outside also, we dont have room for a storage bldg and we have searched all over to find a place to store him, he's just to long. I spent Thursday's storm at my sons school in the hallway and all I could think about was the Airstream, hail is my worry and of course tornado's.
Looks like we are going to get storms again tonight.

Hang in there Georgia! You're safe, your family is safe, and your 'stuff' is safe. At least you've got a storm room to go to! I'm in hopes that this spring won't be as violent as the spring of '99!

We had a little pea-size hail and some heavy rain here today, but nothing nearly as scary as what other places are getting.

Take care...

Roger

Unhappy Just came back last night from running the Storm Gauntlet

I picked up a 1961 Streamline Duke yesterday afternoon & was less than 50 miles from golf ball hail along the Kentucky/Tennessee border.....

I ended up driving over 200 miles out of my way home & thru the night to avoid severe thunderstorms because (ironically) the Streamline had no hail damage & the body was almost new thanks to being stored inside most of its' life...

I made it home early this morning, though Mother Nature beat up my nerves pretty badly

At least two dead I heard in Mississippi from tornado devastation

Hang on Kent, it's coming your way. We listened to thunder all night and then woke up this morning to a blizzard. Lots of heavy wet snow and wind. Neighbors have trees down and my pine trees have branches hanging straight down. I will begin plowing after lunch I guess. We are predicted to have 10 inches by the time it stops. Funny, last week it was in the 50s.

Luckily, we have the space and I built a 40/60 pole shed when we bought the 345. I rent space to old car buffs and another motorhome, and I have space for my stuff at a very reasonable cost. If the roof doesn't collapse from too much snow, the 345 is safe and dry.

MNDOT just issued a travel advisory for Southern Minnesota. Now, in Minnesota, that is significant! Pat370 up in Hastings, I hear you have 15 inches now. I have maybe 8 so far. Not too cold though. Real problem is that it is slippery!!!

Thanks, Chris, and good luck to all of you north, east, and south of us today and tonight. And yes, the tragedies associated with these storms and sometimes just Life itself does put all into a new perspective. Be well and stay safe. ~G
