Who wears the pants in the family!!!

Okay who has the addiction in your family for the Airstream. I do (wife). Have bought all the books on Airstream, pink flamingo's, airstream party lights etc. I do most of the work that we don't have to hire out. The Airstream has turned into an obsession with me but the hubby is coming around a little. If it was up to me I would sell the house and full time.

Well, until last weekend I had the pands on!! But Steffi helped me last weekend for the first time and wants to keep helping me!!! I was really happy, that she shows some interest in what I am doing there although it is just floor replacement and some minor frame work at this time. I would love to "share my pands" with her when it comes to the interior work and I hope that she gets really hooked to the whole Airstream thing...

I have to move to Berlin in June because of a new job and so we can only see us on the weekends, but if Dave was ready I would instantly move into him alone, instead of an Appartment...

Unfortunatly this has to wait and might never happen, but it is dream of mine...
But I think not a dream of Steffi...

I am the one that suffers from this addiction in our house. My wife Julie enjoys the Airstream and is even understanding of my affliction. Hasn't said yet she wishes I was cured. At least not yet anyway.

It is an equally shared obsession with us. We share the work load needed to restore and maintain more than one trailer. Between both of our skill sets, we are able to tackle any aspect of trailer restoration and, most importantly, we thoroughly enjoy all aspects of the work.

I'm the one...

but my boyfriend seems to be catching it too. He was very lukewarm on the idea and humored me, agreeing, if I got the Airstream, he'd provide the tow vehicle. Well his idea of tow vehicle is something that also could double as a truck he could rent to the movie makers: 1 Ton dually Ford with stakebed and lift gate. We also agreed, every thing from the hitch back is my financial responsibility, everything from the hitch forward is his. So, that meant buying a new wiring harness to fit the movie truck and a new brake controller.

He's a former truck driver for rock and roll bands, now truck driver for the movie industry so I'll have a good towing teacher. His remark the first time he saw "Airylle" was that the bunk was the size of a sleeper in a semi and the bathroom was way too small for any kind of real showering...but that he would just take showers at truck stops like he's done for years.

As we were standing outside looking at her this weekend he suddenly hugged me and said, "we're going to have some good times in this rig". So, I think he's come around. As far as the interior remodel, well that will be my job.

Talking We split the obsession....

We had been looking for a small fifth wheel and had attended an RV Show in KC. Sort of tripped across the Airstream display. Loved 'em but couldn't afford 'em.

Out garage saling and once again tripped across an Airstream. A poor neglected one. Phone call to hubby. Deal made. He's hooked. He will bring it back to it's originally glory.

He's a building mechanic - systems are no problem to him. But he has no sense of color or asthetics. That's where I come in.

In other words -- it's a 50/50 deal here -- the best of the best!!!

I'm the culprit in our house, but since my main hobby for the past ten years has been restoring and modifying cars, that's no big surprise. Dave is not very mechanical anyway. He was a little appalled at the idea of living the 'trailer life', but now that we have it he loves it! We have occasionally talked about getting a MoHo that can pull a trailer for our business and taking it on the road. Ah, maybe someday...

Smile we both wear pants, I'm the only one who wears a skirt!

Cute thread Becky! Its an equal addiction thing so we are blessed with aluminum for a long time...he is very fix it oriented, we both read the forums and find new ideas for improvement (thanks folks!). We love camping so we are in for a penny, in for a pound.

Wow that question takes me back, I'm only 21 but I remember when the law changed allowing girls to wear pants to school, grandma must have told me about it, yeah that's it cause I'm way too young to remember that!

Lee blames me for the Airstream obsession.

Hey - why wear pants when you could wear:
