Thumbs up Who owns it?

So, I gotta know who owns it!

I'm driving on the 15 freeway southbound just north of the 76 interchange today 5/13/08 at about 12:30 pm. This is in northern San Diego County and I see the sun shining off of something coming towards me in the opposite lanes (northbound) about a mile away. I knew it had to be an Airstream. When it finally got to me I got a quick look through traffic and I think it was either a '49 or '50 being pulled by a white Nissan Armada (I think). Had to be the shiniest trailer I've ever seen in these parts. I've looked through the member search trying to find out who's it is but no luck.

Any ideas out there?

Just wanted to congratulate the owner on a nice polishing job.

Gilbert,

Too bad you did not get a picture. I believe that it is an El Camino Real member headed to Vail RV Park in Temecula for this weekend's rally.

You will not find them on this forum, but I think that I know who you saw.

Thanks Bill.

Hope it's him. If so tell him I said "that's a mighty fine polishing job".

Since your going to see him this weekend can you post a picture of his AS so I can confirm it was the one. Also would like to see it again.

Gilbert,

We are not going to Vail RV this weekend, we are working on the Liner so that it is a little more than an aluminum tent for Bozeman. But since you are in Escondido, just hop up to Temecula and take a look.

I too think it was an El Camino Real member headed for Vail Lake.
We'll be heading there tomorrow.

Bill, good idea, I'll try to make it up there. We have a graduation on Saturday and stuff on sunday, but maybe I can talk the wife into a nice drive.

Jim, just in case I don't make it relay the message.

Thanks

No idea. Too much traffic. They were going north while I was going south.

Right and Wrong.

Well, turns out that at 70 MPH I was partially right and mostly wrong. Thanks to Jim's help I located the trailer and it is REALLY sweet. The TV was the Infinity version of the Armada but the trailer was a 1949 Silver Streak Clipper. Here's a picture of it.

Jim also introduced me to a great bunch of people who couldn't have been nicer. Karma to him

Thanks Jim.

You are correct, they are a great bunch of people. You should join us, there is a rally in San Diego for the Blue Angels show the first of October.

Who could miss seeing such a beautiful trailer? Well, maybe me. We were on a small Texas country road this past weekend enroute to our rally in Victoria when our highway crossed another. My partner yells "AIRSTREAM" and points to the left of us, but I was too focused on traffic to see it . We were hoping that Airstream was going to our rally, but sadly they went another direction.

Someone has done a magnificant job with that Silver Streak Clipper!!!!
