White House Oval Office

Washington D.C. doesn't have anything we don't have in my small community of Corona California.

We have our own, 95 percent scale model of the "Oval Office," down to the finest of details, including the carpet.

It was built for educational purposes for anyone interested in our country, especially school children.

It can be seen by appointment only, and at no charge. You're welcome to take photos if you wish, and they may let you sit behind the desk.

It was funded by and it's located at our local Toyota dealer.

They can be contacted at:

You look good/natural behind that desk - perhaps if the Airstream business gets a little slow...... never know - I would vote for you

Andy, that is a nice close but no cigar facsimile of the Oval Office.
The real desk is, of course, much more ornate, and the carpet much more detailed, but of course the real ones were done on a Federal Budget, not a Toyota Budget.

I don't know - Andy is reluctant to say what he really thinks......

Still has my vote....

If our local "oval office" is not an exact duplicate, "who cares".

What is the important point, is that a local business man, took his time and money, to create something to educational for our kids, and some adults too, in a way that no one else has dared to do, on the planet earth.

Lord knows, most kids today, don't have a clue, as well as some adults, of how government may work, good or bad, let alone what our Federal government has for their offices or meeting rooms.

This same exhibit also has models of the senate and congressional chambers as well.

I would be happy to post those, if so desired by some.

Lets take our hats off to those that have a sincere desire to advance our knowledge, and not become critical of small details, that serve no useful purpose.

Being involved with local governments, is something more people should do.
If someone can offer any positive assistance at all to local governments, then they should somehow, someway, get involved. When they do, they become a part of a solution to problems, instead of being a part of the problem.

Being involved with a Chamber of Commerce and some of it's committees, and your city or town, and some of it's committees, can be very rewarding.

I share some of my time with them, and stand very proud of it.

It makes a person "feel good," to be a contributor, and not just a taker.

Andy

Andy,

I agree with your sentiments, but there at least a dozen oval offices out there. At least five Presidential Libraries have them. There is a 'traveling' oval office based in Nashville. (I don't know if it is in an Airstream) The only recent president that doesn't have or isn't planning an library 'oval office' was Nixon, who decided to have an East Room repica instread.

It should be noted that there are also Oval Office Replicas at several of the Presidential Libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration. These include the Truman, LBJ, Ford, Carter and Reagan Libraries. The Hoover, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, and GHW Bush Libraries do not have replicas to my knowledge.

Okay, so there are others.

But, how many were built and paid for by "one" business person?
