Unhappy white excella

White 1976 31' excella 500 on ebay.Idem #320101719645. It appears to have been painted .Just saw it on there 4-9-07

really nice trailer, but why would someone have painted it white? isn't one of the coolest things about an airstream the unmistakable silver, hence "aluminum fever?" maybe they thought that was easier than polishing it!? i can't even imagine trying to strip it. it is nice, though.

Having an Argosy history, I kind of like it. Any way to get rid of those pesky segments and get a one piece end cap?

The sale doesn't say why it was painted. It'd be an extra expense but silver painted Airstreams are indistinguishable from 10' away -- and their clearcoat never peels. You can also use bondo to repair dents before repainting.
