Where to stay near the Lake Tahoe

Hi all,

For our future holidays, we investigate to come in USA (3 weeks)

I have an idea about the trip but I wish to stay near the Lake Tahoe during 3-4 days and someone of you has a good address ? I'm looking for a confortable hotel or room (max $70 per night), not luxury but clean and sympathic...

Thank you very much !

We live in sacramento, about 90 miles west of Lake tahoe. There are small hotels in south lake tahoe, but if go during the winter ,you may spend a little more. But truckee is a small town, about 15 miles away, near all the major ski resorts and the cost may fit your budget.

"Tahoe" can be very different depending on where you are on the Lake. Maybe if you tell us what time of year you're planning on being there. And where you'd be coming from and where you'd be going after . . .

There's North Shore, South Shore, California Side, Nevada Side, Locations on or near the Lake and Locations up above near the Ski Resorts . . . and lots of other places in between. There are large Hotels, small Motels, Cabins, Lodges . . .

Have you looked at the vrbo or airbnb websites?

It seems that the best way is from Las Vegas to begin the trip, and the road arrives to the south of the lake.

Then, I think to visit Yosemite area (from North to the South), cross Death Valley and some ghosts towns in order to ride on the 66 Road to Flagstaff and finish near the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley (perhaprs Powell Lake too)

Yes, airbnb is a good idea, I'm looking for in this website.

When we'll come, it's during June, no much tourists and quite calm.
