Where to go on weekends?

Hi, guys. How do you usually spend your weekends? What interesting places and events do you visit? I'm looking for new ideas for spending my free time because I feel a bit bored of my usual activities. In my case I usually stay at home and have just a lazy home relax with reading/watching movies/playing computer games. Or if I'm with my friends, we often attend concerts, art exhibitions, various cafes and cinema, also sometimes we have long walks across our city.
So... What more?

When I was working for a living, weekends were for doing anything and everything that would take more than an evening to accomplish.

But now I'm in the middle of a weekend that has lasted 1,035 days (and counting) so weekends are nothing special for me anymore. Usually. However, every weekend in November the Louisiana Renaissance Festival is happening in Hammond, LA, and I intend to get over there at least one of those weekends.

Try doing what you enjoy, but in a different city.

One year, I'm going to sample barbecue all across the south.
I still love the mountains.
Find a concert or art festival and go!

Hi

These days, I hunker down and hide from the crowds on weekends. I go out and have fun on the weekdays

The same basic principle applies even if you aren't retired. First question - what is everybody else doing now? Ok, cross that stuff off the list. Whatever others are not doing - that moves to the top of the list of things to think about.

Right now, a lot of people around here are putting their RV's in storage. Lots of empty campgrounds out there, even on weekends .....

Oh, I have similiar problem However in my case I can't have long weekends at the current time because of my work so when they finally come I'm just glad about this and all activities I can do instead of my work.
In case of visiting interesting places and events I usually do the same as you but I can also recommend theatrical performances, art master classes (there's so many of them!), short camping somewhere in a local park or a countryside, also various parties in your local clubs. In last case I mean really interesting events such as thematic parties, I was on several of them and that was really very cool, much better than usual dancing and drinking too much alcohol
Also watching live musicals can be a good idea too (if you like such genre of course), for example both I and my wife rather often watch Broadway shows, there's always smth great on stage in their theatres like "Hamilton", visit this link for more information about its dates, in my opinion it's a good thing for the start in case of musicals.
And I can also recommend you to find a new productive hobby, I mean smth like learning foreign languages etc., some of my friends like to continue their education in such way and learn smth new in groups. As I heard, it's very interesting too

XYmox from your signature line it looks like you have two trailers and two Interstates, and you are staying home on weekends?

Okay, up and at em.

Find short trips to parks and scenic places even for just a picnic lunch. You live in a history rich area and short trips don't take to much planning.
