Question Where is everybody!

Have a question to ask of everyone.

I have just spent 2 weeks traveling from Portland, Oregon, on Highway 1 all the way to Palm Springs, CA. Then East on I-10 to El Paso, northeast to Roswell, NM. That is where I am now.

This whole trip, 2760 miles, I have only seen about 10 Air Streams on the road. Plenty of off brand RV's but none of us.

Even in Quartsite, Arizona I only saw one.

Is everybody redoing their AS and busy???

Just wondering.

I am planning to attend the July Rally in Michigan and that will be the first time I pull my Classic. This particular trip was to bring my tow vehicle back to TN to hook everything up.

My friend said this message sounds snobbish, don't really mean to be but just wondering.

TNSue,
I don't think you sounded snobby at all. But I can tell you this past week, many of us were in Sarasota Fl, (around 600 units) for the Florida rally.
I think everyone had a great time. Try to come down next year, we'd love to have you visit us.

My wife and I saw a lot of Airstreams in Southeast Arizona over the Christmas holiday. Maybe you should have taken a right turn at Phoenix.

Well, I thought I would see more AS on the road and was surprised when I did not see more.

Guess I should have come sooner or later to see them.

I was always excited when I did see one especially when it looked like me going along. Can't wait until I get hitched up and joing the people on the highway.

I saw many road I want to try with my AS behind me. A lot out there to see and do.

As it was said, guess everyone was in Florida enjoying the weather there.

Tnsue,
Face it, the numbers are against you seeing more than just a handfull of us Elite Airstream owners I am working right on the edge of US 15/29/17 in Northern VA, I have only seen 2 AS in the last 2 weeks, a lot of SOB's but only 2 AS. BTW mine is in NC awaiting my return and a new Vista View I run the roads quite a bit and see only a very few AS in comparison to the SOB's I guess we are "the few, the proud, the millionare Airstream Owners"

We noticed there were only 6 (7 if you count the company unit) Argosy's at the rally, out of 650 or so units.
That comes out to 1%, and since Argosy is a less expensive Airstream, I guess we would be the 1% Thousandaire club...

We're keepin' the salt off our coach....so until it goes away, we'll be campin' in the driveway!

I figure in about a month we'll be getting close to getting it ready for some shake downs before the midwest rally and a trip or two before that as well.

Until then........keep warm!

Petunia and I went on our first shakedown cruise over the weekend.

Drove all of 10 miles to Wine Country RV Resort in Paso Robles. Rained all weekend ... no computer, no TV ... got a mini taste of being confined to a smaller space. Did a lot of reading and listening to music.

Everything in the trailer seems to work just fine. Dumping the tanks ... no big deal. Although everything is really low to the ground ... glad I bought some knee pads.

We did see two other Airstream trailers while we were there ... so 3 units out of about 70 isn't too bad.

You don't seem very impressed by your shakedown trip.

I've been on plenty of 2500+ trips and i only see about three or four the whole time. And it always on the road. I nearly never see one in the campground I'm in. It always nice to see another one in the campground. I always say hi when walking by.

And Porky, I just had my four day shakedown trip straight from Toscano. (Had that same rain but it wasn't constant) Moving up from the Safari, all I can say is.... "I've died and gone to heaven!!!"

Apparently AS cluster

While in Port O Connor on the Texas coast, a town of maybe 500 perm residents and 2000 fishermen, I counted 8 AS just driving around town. At least three of us were mobile and the rest were in for the long stay. most were 10 to 20 years old if I had to guess.

Been seeing quite a few here in North Central Florida. Myself and another gentleman with a slide out equipped Airstream are currently at High Springs Campground. An Argosy motorhome just left over the weekend. A couple from Ohio stopped in on their way to Travelers Rest, near Tampa, this weekend.

I see quite a few on I75, almost daily. Most common are the 34' triaxle coaches. I've got to get one of those!!

To busy to go to the Fl State Rally, but plan on making some of the upcoming local rallies.
