What's the snow like in your area?

Well, it's almost the middle of March and it's snowing.

Again.

We've had unbelievable amounts of snow with still more on the way (I live in Ottawa, Ontario - Snowbelt Country).

It's piled up so high in front of my house that the kids are easily snowboarding on the front lawn. The snowbanks are at least 12 feet high with no end of accumulation in sight. I look out my front door and all I see is a wall of snow. And if I look way up, I can see my kids' boots up there as they're getting ready to snowboard down again.

Calgon - Take me Away (to Florida or somewhere similar)!!

So I'm curious - who else is seeing record amounts of snow?

Snow? Snow? What's snow? We camped last weekend at El Capitan State Beach (north/west of Santa Barbara) and the temps were in the mid to upper 70's. But I guess that's not what you're asking!

In New England this year, we have seen record amounts of snow (4-5' plus in some areas).

Right now, with the advent of warmer temps and lots of rain, all you see is nasty, gnarly piles of black snow and debris with lots of patches of bare ground. It is a New England harbinger of spring!

We still have a lot of snow and more coming tomorrow I guess. Having an old fashioned Minnesoooota Winter. However, we must be vewy, vewy caweful how we speak of such things, unless we are hunting wabbits. There are zealots watching our every word.

Ditto to what Wayne (wbrownrr) said

We'll be close to 60 again today - maybe some rain tomorrow. I'm already tired of mowing lawns

Snow?

We're having our short spring here. The brown hills of Winter are now green before they turn brown again for summer.

Yesterday was 80 degrees so I de-winterized the trailer. I took out the Glennfeddich single malt and put the cool cups back in.

I'm now ready for the rest of the camping season.

Weather station prediction: 3 snow storms back-to-back for this week.

Snowbanks are so high, I cannot see across the street. I'm snow weary... Mother Nature, please give us a break!

Apparently, Mother Nature has become bored with dumping snow on Moncton. New game... flurries, freezing rain, rain, freezing rain.

Do not like driving a car on an icefield, surrounded by mountains of snow at every corner and intersection.

Excellent opportunity for an entreprenuer. Design winter tires, that replicate skates.

Global warming? I went to Philadelphia yeaterday to tow my new 73 tradewind home to the finger lakes. New hitch, tires, packed wheel bearings. Ready to go untill I checked the weather. 40 to fifty mile an hour gusts and snow in the mountains. Not good for the first 280 mile trip. I will try again on Monday.

What's the snow like in your area?

All I can say is Brrrrrrrrrr! after reading about all of the snow not so far North of where I am located. We haven't had much snow this winter -- only one storm two weeks ago that "dumped" a meager 4" on our area resulting in the last of our eight Winter Weather days at school. Two weeks ago, we had the second of our two ice storms that resulted in three Winter Weather days at school; and three weeks ago, we had our first ice storm that resulted in four Winter Weather days at school. This week, we had 14 inches (yes that is fourteen) of rain in 24-hours (Monday into Tuesday). We are on Spring Break this week, but the schools that weren't on Spring Break missed another two or three days due to high water/flooding. I am just hoping that we are able to resume school on Monday -- the two primary highways that lead up to our school are absolutely surrounded by flood waters and the river to which these smaller streams are tributaries isn't expected to crest until the middle to end of next week. It seems like this winter has been a season of either extreme storms or almost nothing at all!

Happy Spring Blizzard!

It's the second day of Spring, and we're expecting somewhere between 8 - 12 inches of snow before tomorrow.

Winter 2008

We are North of Spokane, Washington. This is what the 22' 67 Safari looked like after a snow storm in January. We had 5' of snow on the ground. Today we had 7". This winter was the third winter on record for the most snow in the area. I'm tired of it. And all through it I have been restoring the Safari. I'm almost done with the inside. Will send pictures when the inside is finished.
I have never sent pictures before so I hope you get them.

Custom67, for a newie at picture posting, you sent us two beautiful snapshots! I can only imagine how hopeful 7" of snow must seem after 5 feet. Here in Missouri we will have a cold Easter, but at least we'll not be driving down snowy lanes with towering walls of snow surrounding us. Here's to a bright warm springtime for everyone...soon Happy Easter, forum! ~G
