Mud alert!

Five to nine inches predicted in the next few days. The good thing is they are always wrong. We could have 0 to 12". 60's by the weekend.

The snow now melts fast and mud is predicted, not just ordinary mud, but clay mud, the kind that dries like adobe because adobe is clay mud dried. I'd rather have another foot of snow and skip the mud.

Just for the record... the "bro" in Bemidji said they actually did have at least 23 inches of heavy, wet snow on Sunday! Glad we're still in Georgia... not good to go back north too soon!!! ^_^

Sure thing -- they got pasted and we didn't get a flake here. So we got 12" overnight. It was very wet and already slumped by half. We're going camping in SE MN in 2 weeks. Looking forward to it too!

NWS is perfect

They were wrong—4 1/4 inches in middle of the night bursts of snow and it's taken 3, not 2 days. The NWS still is always wrong. All pretty much gone, but it's been snowing on and off all day, though not sticking, and there are snow clouds all through the valley below us and on Grand Mesa and the West Elk Mtns. We hit 70" this morning for the season total.

I 70 is closed in the central mountains and snow all through the Colorado mountains. A normal April.

Speaking of robins, we were being attacked by them yesterday. Driving about a mile from home, there were a 100, maybe as much as 200, many on the road, and they were really slow to fly away, some were flying right at us, and we started to think of Hitchcock's "The Birds". I had to stop a couple of times. I don't know whether they were so tired, hungry and wondering why they had migrated so soon, that they acted like crazy robins. We have never seen a flock act like that.

Boy, I wish the mess would move out of here! We had snow all day yesterday, woke up to nearly clear skies this morning. Forecast, which sounded strange at the time, was for snow. Alas, they were right: It's snowing hard now with no quick let-up in sight.

Man, I sure hope we can even get out of here early in the morning. The DenCo luncheon in Colorado Springs starts at 11:30 tomorrow, so we've got over a five hour drive to make it.

It's gotta be Spring, half the snowbirds have flocked back North over the last week here.

Snow, What Snow?

In NC when they do call for snow, we end up with freezing rain.
I want a real snow storm, in Jan or Feb. not April....

I flew out of Appleton, Wisconsin today; it was snowing with about 1"-2" on the ground overnight.
It was 90 degrees here at home today, and still 78 degreees by the time I got home this evening. Quite a swing in the weather.

We are looking at the last of the two foot high snowbanks. Yesterday, it must have been sixty degrees. I de-winterized the Caravel.

Right now it is barely above freezing and we are having snow flurries.....

It was 42 here last night. While not bad by most standards, 42 in mid-April is extremely chilly for Central Florida. Had to run the heat for the last two nights, I thought we were done with that until next November.
