Whats in a name?
Everyone tells me that I need to name my baby ( by the way we had our maiden voyage to an overnite at the white tanks last night, all went great) soon so that she can be put on the mailing list. Well since I am a scifi nut I was thinking of naming her the "Millenium Falcon" I already had a car that was name the "Land Speeder" has this name already been taken and do you think that it is a good name?

Depending on what your tastes in scifi ship names is.

Ah yes, O63 those are indeed good name choices that fit right into my persona. If all my first choice falls through, they are a good backup.

while I get that people might like to name their AS - I did not know that names for "owned" (I take this when I read "that name is 'taken').
So tell me;
- is there a listing of ownership (one could see the list and know that a name was taken)
- is there way to 'register' your chosen name?
Thanks!

Funny, Vaughan, we are on the same wavelength! That was exactly what popped into my head when I read Jerry's post!
I have not searched any of these, but how about Aluminaut or AlumoRama (nod to Arthur C. Clarke)? Also don't forget Serenity, Yamato, Solaris, Defiant, or the Starship Andromeda.
Terry, Travelstar Galactica is great!!!

pdq, I think what "taken" means is that is is in use as a Forums name. Terry, enlighten me if I am wrong!

Wahoo other Sci Fi fans....
Choose the name you wish... folks name their children after others, you could always name your A/S after another A/S....
