Jim,
Yep...it is winter! Just a little friendly banter among kindred souls. No harm in a bit of 'dreaming'! With all the unrest and STUFF in the world now...a diversion is good sometimes, don't you think? Dream on!

I was gonna chip off George and Tom to make room for my glorius visage. I'm gonna keep Abe's space in reserve in case one of my fellow Billionaire's wants to join me some day. What are friends for?

Think bigger. Say - your face, solo, on the moon - the entire sunny side of the moon. Now THAT is a good use of a billion bucks 😃

Absotootly! January and February are sooooooo dreary (cold, rain, snow, sleet, repeat). Especially after all the wonderful events of the Holiday Season. Almost like a big let-down. I'm enjoying the heck out of this thread.
To Dream, To Dream!
And to further cure my winter blues, I'm going to Asheville this weekend to visit the Grandkids. It's supposed to SNOW!! That's actually a much bigger deal in the South than where some of you folks live. (Susan has a Girl Scout event this weekend and can't go with me.) Maybe me and the kids can make a Snowman.
Post on, y'all. I'm lovin' it.

I think I'd start a foundation to develop subsidized, affordable housing. I would be quite content to spend my life designing and building small, affordable homes in a city where a small tear down will set you back at least a million.

After taxes, that would be about $500,000,000.00 dollars.
Would most likely give 100,000,000.00 to each of our three grown children to do with as they see fit.
That would leave $200,000,000.00 for us. That invested in what we are already invested in would give us an income after taxes of about $1,000.000.00 per month, $33,333.00 per day, $1,389.00 per hour, $23.15 every minute, to do with as we see fit.
A much easier amount with which to deal.
Give or take a few bucks here and there.

I'd build four luxury campsites
One by the beach, one in the mountains, one in the desert, one by a lake.
Covered campsites, with permanent trailers, swimming pools, guest trailers. stone fire pits, stone patios, small barn.
The campsite by the lake would have an Airstream pontoon boat, and a dock
The campsite in the desert would have a wild west town, with a saloon, adobe sheriffs office with a jail, general store, hotel, stable, teepees in the distance.
The campsite in the mountains would have a small log cabin.
The campsite by the beach would have a boardwalk.

Education
I would like to put private elementary and secondary schools out of business in my community.... by making the public schools SO good it would be a waste of money to send children to private schools.
Addtionally I'd seriously fund adult literacy/numeracy courses
AND I'd enjoy a lot of the luxuries of money - I would get on an airplane again - FIRST CLASS or chartered jet all the way, simply because I'd like to parts of the world on the other side of the oceans.
And buying Airstream from Thor - maybe.
Paula

From what I've heard about what the 1 percenters buy, I'd get myself a couple of politicians. I understand that you can get them pretty cheap and it's the in-thing for the filthy rich.

I'm in, I would like to buy the new National Park Airstream. I would give my retail store to my manager, my embroiery business to my embroiderer, fund grand kids collwge, give kids some money and start foundation. I would get tax guy, coa and lawyer. I would be happy with one mill.

Thank Jesus!
I don't play the lottery, but if I did win a billion dollars I would get down on my knees and thank Jesus! Then I would give Him one tenth to start with. It's all His anyway.

Buy a new tow vehicle.
Add a room on the cabin.
Put 20 mil in the bank.
Retire.
Give the rest to charities.
pretty much live the same life with more camping vacations.
