what was your television appearance?

Under weird facts, I read that; One in every four Americans has appeared on television.

What was your television appearance?

I was on Bozo, either in the stands or the Grand March, tee hee and Here's Geraldine, children's programs broadcast on channel 9 in Chicago a gazillion years ago.

Used to be part of a family group that sang on radio, tv and even the Oprey as kids. Used to open shows for the out of town stars that came through.

Ewwwwww... Is that what happened to the iris bed? Mrs. Hut cornered the market on rivet shavers just to take advantage of guys like us. Story for a different day though...

My best birthday as a kid was when my mother organized a group of friends to be on Kenny Roberts' The Jumpin' Cowboy kids show on WHIO in Dayton, Ohio. I'd guess 1955.

For a few brief moments, I was on the screen with Diana Ross as she performed during the Super Bowl XXX half time show. No, I wasn't performing, I was a volunteer stage hand in the background. Now that seems like a long time ago.

Television experience

I was on The RV Documentary that was filmed at Cherry Blossum Rally a few years back... A TV Crew was there to film the group and I was in the final editing...COOL.. They even ran a rerun a few months ago on the Travel Channel. By the way, I was the one who said "come on in" and walked toward my trailer and opened the door( 3 words and 7-10 seconds of FAME!!) I used to do a weekly basic car care for women segment on Ch. 11 in Fort Worth that broadcast to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and surrounding areas, back around 1997. It came about because I was teaching Basic Car Care for Women through the local educational facility (Fun Ed), and they saw me do that and asked me to do the segments. I think I did about 6 or 8 of them.

I think I was also on TV as a kid a couple times, once while ice skating at an outdoor park in Sarnia, Ontario.

I made a few comments for the local PBS station when they did a special on Airstream's.

Here's the link to the site. Scroll down and click on Airstream trailers to view the program.

I was interviewed on an Italian sports program in '92 during my cycling team presentation. Being the only american, they were very interested in knowing more about me. Unfortunately my italian wasn't perfected yet and I didn't come across very well. I later rectifed that mistake after I gave a flawless interview after a win 3 years later.

Talking heads

What a crazy idea for a thread

I did a web cam interview on a national cable show called "Internet Tonight" about living and making art on the road.

WNYC, the New York City PBS station did a show about art and artists and I had a 1/2 hour interview.

The Sara Lee show, was a local Long Island talk show where I also had a 1/2 hour interview.

It was fun, and it was interesting to see how things work behind the scene!

We, and our Excella, were in a Food Channel show; Sandra Lee Semi Homemade or something like that. The AS was featured, we can be seen swimming in the pond in the background. It was a "camping theme" cooking episode.
Recently (last week) they have been using our property to film a Richard Geere movie -Hachicko (childrens film about a dog) our Home and most likely our Excella will be visible. Don't know when it will hit the (big) screen. Probabaly not until this winter, or later...

Had a couple of near misses: When I was little my parent got a friend and I tickets to be on the "Uncle Al Show" in Cincinnati. They cancelled us. Don't remember why.

Later on my Dad was on a show (hosted by Bob Braun or Nick Clooney, maybe) in Cincinnati to talk about a micro-trache that Dr. Heimlich had "installed" for Dad's emphysema. He was the 4th person to get it. Mom and I sat in the audience. That was exciting. He was also on the cover of a technical magazine for the same reason. Don't remember the name, though I do have it filed away somewhere here at home.

Hi Happycampers!

No, I'm not from there. We were there for about 2 1/2 years in the late 1970's for my dad to start up a Union Carbide plant. I got to go back through there in 2003 on the way to the Mosport racetrack and see the old stomping grounds. Our old neighbors were still there, and they remembered me! We now communicate by mail. What fun.

Have a great day!

Susan

I was on WDSE ch. 8 in Duluth Mn. in about 1966 for school. I don't remember what it was for though. Then in about 1968 I was on the Mr. Toot show (like bozo show) on WDSM ch. 6 with our Cub Scout pack also in Duluth. Tom

I've been on a few times while working emergency incidents, and once gave an interview related to a fire investigation class I was assisting with. All local stuff.

Merv Griffin

My wife and I were successful contestants on Merv Griffin's "Play Your Hunch" for seven continuous days in December 1958. I was a doctoral student at Columbia University in NYC, and the experience helped me pay the tuition money, which up to that time was in short supply. We had a truly memorable time. . . and our families and friends out west were excited to see us every day for a week. Merv and his staff were very kind to us!
