Looks like they want to disguise that it was an Airstream. I saw this same thing in a Issue of the Blue Beret. You could not identify the trailer and the door was on the street side. Must have something to do with getting permission to use an Airstream in the ad.
Well, Ford isn't doing all that hot, maybe it was a college intern who did the ad since the main advertising group's contracts were bought out by the company in cost cutting moves and many of the seasoned employees went to Toyota.

I don't believe it's an Airstream at all. Could it be a <gasp> Avion??? Looks like one to me...and with them not being made anymore, I'm sure the leagalize to use them is much less than with an Airstream.
BTW, looks like the Avion Club is having "issues" too, look at the "club name" in the text of this website: Fleetwood Avion Travelcade Club

I was hoping it was an Avion too. But I have the hard copy booklet so the photo is a bit clearer then the PDF file I posted. It's a new model Airstream, it's got the new higher stone guards that became available in 2006.

Maybe the Airstream is a new "Extra-wide" bodied Airstream that's coming out as a '08 in April. Ford is just advertising that its 1/2 truck is up to the task and a 3/4 ton Chevy isn't necessary to tow it!

NEW YORK (AFP) - The Ford Motor Co. posted the largest loss in its venerable history, which stretches back over a century to the birth of modern industry.
Ford now ranks as the second-biggest US automaker, behind General Motors Corp. Ford lost its second ranking worldwide in 2004 to Japan's Toyota, which is now threatening also to overtake Ford in the United States.
The US company reported a loss of 12.7 billion dollars for 2006, the worst loss in all its storied years, due to large restructuring costs as it seeks to revive its operations and vehicle sales.
With news like this they must be using first year art students as interns in their graphics department!

Hasn't Avion been boxy for years now? It's only the vintage ones that are Airstream like......right?
I though I heard the rumor that the orig Avion was started by a few disgruntled Airstream employees that vowed to build the better mouse trap. Anyone else hear that?

I found the history of the Avion, doesn't say anything about Airstream workers:
