wally worked at...

curtiss-wright aircraft which became curtiss-wright travel trailers...

after the 'big split' they shared designs and construction methods with airstream...

since wally worked for/at curtiss-wright and the trailers were based on the pre ww2 airsteam clipper model...

in the late 40s or early 50s curtiss-wright sold the business to 3 guys...

who formed the 'silver streak' trailer company, not avion.

there were some folks from a/s that went to work for silver streak in the later years too...

silver streaks are often confused with avions...

the later model silver streaks have some yellow/gold anodized sections...

that gold/yellow paneling is a distinguishing feature....

silver streaks are very well made trailers, last built in the late 80s...

as i recall

here are pix of the '55 clipper silverstreak...looks basically the same as an a/s because it is.

and the modern silver streak sales photo and with a happy owner. this is a late model unit.

Great story. Sad to see the Avion go the way of the SOB and Fleetwood.....

Computers manufactured by companies such as IBM, Compaq and millions of others are by far the most popular with about 70 million machines in use worldwide. Macintosh fans note that cockroaches are far more numerous than humans and that numbers alone do not denote a higher life form. -NY Times 11/91
