Ray, try canned tuna, salmon, or chicken breast....all still packed in cans....and healthier, too!
You will, of course, be missing out on that gelatinous glob of spam grease! YUM!

If you're boondocking, Greek Yogurt and Fruit doesn't sound like much of a breakfast. First thing you know you'll want to break for a snack or even lunch! Span, Eggs, Grits, Biscuits & Oatmeal will make a breakfast that will keep you running on all cylinders 'til dinner. Spam is better than Bacon 'cuz it doesn't yield as much grease which is a well-known bear, skunk, fox, coyote and Blue Heeler attractant.

Thanks for the advice on what not to bring.
SPAM- It's all in how you slice it. I prefer mine thinly sliced in a spam musubi!

Thanks, Iceman. I'll add in some oatmeal or maybe granola! I don't eat grits, bacon, or spam. And, yes, I am from the south! I am the only remaining sibling, of eight kids in my family...most of them died from diabetes and heart attacks between 55 and 65! I changed my eating habits in early 20's. Yep, southern cooking tastes sooooo good, but, it does reduce longevity. (Btw, I'll be 78 in A few months). I'm shooting for 90's!
Got lots of traveling to come!

Ray,

You and I have the same blood pressure situation. Normally around 110/67 or so for me.

My wife (who unfortunately does have high blood pressure) is always after me saying that I am a salt-aholic. Probably true - I tell her I am trying to get my blood pressure up!

Actually I aways thought it was probably a good thing to have low blood pressure but I have read that is maybe not so. Still I think mine is only just on the low side of normal.

Brian.

(PS - I have one of those old style spam tins as a pen/pencil holder on my desk at present!)

Happinurse...as one retired RN to another nurse, (if I decode your handle correctly).... If you desire a long life....drop the spam! (Other choices taste good and are healthier!)

Sorry to turn this into a health seminar, but, the nurse in me.....
110/67.....much more desirable than a high BP. Salty and fatty fried foods, while tasty, are most unhealthy, and can and will lead to serious problems....diabetes, heart disease, hypertension....to name a few. OKAY....health seminar is over! Thanks for attending. LOL.

Brian, nice little piece of post WWII Americana that you have for your desk pencil holder. One day, it may be worth a few sugar coupons, (from the depression).

Atomic.....OOOOOH.....EXCUUUUUSE ME! If that's what you like, then, baby, you just go on and CHOW DOWN!
(If you're camping near me, I will have a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff handy...as well as some aspirin....just in case anyone needs it.) hope our cell phones have strong signals to call 911....cause I can diagnose but can't treat your heart attack or stroke. I will be glad to say a rosary while we await for an ambulance. God bless!

Blazing Saddles Bean and Spam poets and posters...

This is the same Blazing Saddles group posting on this Thread. Always eating Beans around the campfire, complaining about Spam (Some Pork And Meat) byproducts and drinking warm IPA Beer. But... can carry a tune.

I have never found anyone on a Wyoming Adventure sitting around the campfire drinking wine and having anything in the campfire musical talents. Ever. Just out of place in God's Country! Includes Wyoming, Montana, Western Nebraska, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, west Texas and all of Canada, except where humid and has trees, but mostly near Calgary during the Stampede.

Those with low blood pressure. We are the lucky ones. You will have daughters as children. Cannot figure that one out, yet.

Getting up to wash dishes is not healthy as you could become dizzy. Vacuuming... getting dizzy. Following threads on my favorites, toilet paper and clogged black water tanks... make me dizzy. Dumping Black Water can make me dizzy with delight as I am more detail orientated than those with High Blood pressure.

Yes. I have Log Cabin Fever in Las Vegas. Camping cures everyone of the Airforum finger cramps and low blood pressure. What happens here, does not always stay... but it is a good start. It usually refers to your cash that stays. The rest is pure expectations that would never happen with your healthy diets.

Lucky for myself and the rest of you. When out Boondocking, I do not answer the watchamathing phone nor follow these Threads. Sometimes I think I am cured... but once trapped at home... it starts all over again.

Hardened arteries are a good thing! When you're old and your bones are feeble from osteoporosis, your arteries will be hard enough to support your weight instead!
