What is it - mystery trailer

I have seen this trailer several times and I am not sure what it is. The lot it is stored in is locked and I can not get very close to check it out. I took this picture today as I was passing by. It is located in a small town in western Arizona.

I'd guess it's a Curtis-Wright Clipper. I think I see the single center rear tail light in the first photo, which means its earlier than most Silver Streak Clippers, as they bought out Curtis-Wright in 1949 if memory serves. Since I think trailers had to have two tail lights in or about 1950, it could thus also be a very early Silver Streak. In any case, it appears that the "alien eyes" windows were modified with an air conditioner stuck in one of them.

Interestingly, in the second photo you can also see a Spartan Imperial Manor (or one of the other Manors, whose name varied by length).

I agree with Joe. The rear end looks like it has a vertical prow crease, indicating a C-W or early Silver Streak as opposed to a semi-circular end indicating an Airstream Liner. The "D" windows have been lengthed and squared off at their outer ends, and their flat panes create neat eyebrows above them. Find another and two old oil rigs and one could fabricate a circus-inspired rally sized Dive Bomber.

I can tell you about the Spartan sitting to the right. Looks like a 33' Royal Mansion somewhere around a '48 - '53.

I drove by this trailer yesterday and took another picture with my cell phone. BTW, it is located in Bouse,AZ. Bouse has a population under 1,000 and I have seen about 6 Airstreams sitting around the town.

Hi Richard: Help save my squinting eyes. Order a telephoto lens for your cellphone.

Be careful

If that is an anhydrous tank in the picture and there are tons of empty Sudafed packaging around the trash.................any further picture taking is at great peril. It would be around here at least.

Thanks for the info. I have seen this trailer sitting in the same spot for a few years now. In the right hands it might look as nice as the one you have...
