I saw it in 3D yesterday. Wonderful movie, and agree about the duct tape. As I understand it, duct tape did save Apollo 13 by providing a means to reform a CO2 scrubber from one shape to another. This was in the movie. Thought there were some very good life lessons in what was an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable movie. Oh, and I have used duct tape many, many times and I carry it in silver AND black!

If memory serves, duct tape was originally developed as a quick patch for bullet holes in airplanes during World War II.

Maybe it was used to patch shrapnel holes in WWII DUKWs.

Originally called duck tape because it was a waterproof duck cloth fabric reinforced tape. After WWII soldiers thought it would be good for sealing duct joints(not so much) and people started calling it duct tape.
Still a go to after 100+ years.

The Gorilla version is far superior to the "Duck"'brand. Just saying... Do not put it where you might lift off paint.

Also good for wart removal, so I hear.

You can use to patch leaky boots too... Put some on outside and inside of boot....press together well!

A matter of opinion......found it to be rather boring. Just "Gravity II" IMO. However, Duct tape is a very useful product.

The book was amazing. Thinking it's gravity II? Can't believe the person even saw the movie. Especially considering this is the most scientifically accurate movie/book on space travel in a long while. More so than Interstellar.

Everything can be fixed with either Duck tape or WD40. If it should move but doesn't use WD40. If it moves but shouldn't use Duck tape.

Duck tape is like the Force, it has a light side, has a dark side, and it holds the universe together...

when I was on the road with my band we called it Rock n Roll tape. It was used all over, to hold down wires and cables, to repair them temporarily and on and on...Don't leave home without it!

My grandpa, a bus mechanic, would never go anywhere without a roll duck tape, some bailing wire, and a can of WD40. He could fix anything!

Add a Leatherman or other multitool, and you're all set. Multitools are never the best tool for any job, but they're always better than not having any tools at all.

Over the years I've seen a lot of drillers boots, and concrete workers boots done up with duct tape. Concrete workers always tape their pants to their boots.
