What else do you spend your money on?

"Most of my money I spent on drinking and women. The rest I just wasted".
Mark Twain

What else do you people play with?
My real hobby is my tractors. The AS is mostly just a place to sleep when I'm up at the lake playing with them.
I use them to mow, dig, plant wildlife food plots and the like.
I just spent the winter working on my mower tractor - the one without the loader. New rings, rod bearings, valves and a little fresh paint.
Happy tractoring,
Jerry

Been tinkering with this 1959 Mercedes sedan for about 10 years now. It is currently in rehab for the second time, this time mechanical overhaul of everything that moves on this vehicle. Fortunately, Mercedes Benz is very good about providing parts for their older vehicles. Not even too $$$.
It is my semi-daily driver, so it gets a lot of use again once it is finished.
The motorcycle has been remarkably reliable...which is a good thing when restoring an old Airstream and a car at the same time.

What a great thread. I hope more people respond to this one, I eagerly wait to see the pictures. That means you Balrgn, let's see the tractor and the car I want so badly.
I thought and thought about what to put on here. My first thought was a bottle of pills, seems that medicine costs more than even Chummy. Second was a gas pump, third was a picture of George W. However, I did not want anyone to think I was contributing to him. So I decided on the next best thing.

Ultradog, I am into tractors also. I have a John Deere 2520 diesel and a John Deere 820 diesel. In the process of restoring the 820. This past winter, I rebuilt the 2520 engine, pistons, liners, bearings, water pump, new injectors.

Mike Lewis, just filled all my tractors and 6 gallon cans last night with $2.299 a gallon off road goodness!

it seems to evaporate

currently, most of our $ is going towards modern architecture. we're working with an architect and hope to apply for permit next week. we have an acre in the westlake hills area of austin. my wife is excited that she'll be just 5 minutes from her office and the kids schools will be just blocks away.

this image of the model is from early stages of the design. it's evolved quite a bit from here.

also, a lot is going towards maintenance and upgrades to our collection of vintage german autos; a 1970 porsche 911t (has been hot rodded), a 1971 porsche 911e targa, 1972 bmw 2002 (hot rodded) and finally a 1973 2002tii.

My business (corporate communications) is very greedy and wants _all_ the dollars and then, even more, please. I think it's pretty miffed about my AS purchase. I expect a major software/hardware tantrum. It's just biding its time, waiting for the pressure of a client deadline...

Smile Oh you mean where does the rest of the budget go?

Cute thread.
Well you know your priorities change with big events.
Since that house fell on my sister and I lost my inheritance to a girl and her ankle biting sidekick from Kansas I've been pretty obsessive about shoes, red shoes...

Cool stuff!

I used to spend all my money on this

But now I seem to spend a lot of it on little guys like this

They're clean, quiet, and never left me doused in gasoline

The little funds I have left go into my salt water aquarium. 55 gal. worth. And of course my son and his sports.

Fishing: rods, reels, line, trips, tying materials, all of the various gadgets and gizmos that go along with this. Also, alot of camping stuff so I can go fishing in style.

If I'm not spending my money on aluminum I spend it on fiberglass.
