What do you like to do when camping?
Inspired by ElaineL's question about why no one ever adds "sitting around and doing nothing" to a poll...here ya go!
What is your favorite thing to do when camping. You can choose more than one option in the poll.
There is also an "other" option to add your $0.02 in on other options that aren't listed in the poll.

Other:
1) I like to set up and stay for a week. No driving around. Often I get the projects done on my RV that I don't get around to otherwise.
2) Hosting. I get to camp longer than 2 weeks!

Great thread, nice poll!
How fun! I love to read about what others like to do while camping, inspires me to try new things!
Other:
We like to kayak, calm waters only, recreational stuff with the long boats (sea kayaks) they track really well and you can fish, sightsee, etc. Beginning fly fishers...still learning lots!
We love to cook outdoors, grill, propane stove, etc. not yet at the over the fire cooking stage but interested!
When I get free time (son and dad take naps in the trailer) I love to do puzzles, read, or take a walk.
Of course we love to meet folks and visit too!

All of the above and meet and greet other Airstreamers. We were at a campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. Met 4 older Airstream couples on their way back to the NE from FL. One was a national officer the other 3 were multi star generals. They treated us like long lost friends and offered lots of advice on what to do with Airstreams and life in general. We thoroughly enjoyed listening to the stories and seeing pictures of all the caravans they had been on. One of them had been on the early China caravans where they had exported the AS and Suburban's. One of the others had been on the Alaska Carvan the year before. Gives us something to look forward too. BTW eating is my favorite

Another vote for flyfishing. Of course eating goes right along with cooking, kind of a fringe benefit. Also lay around and do mostly nothing is also lots of fun. One can learn alot by doing this with great proficiency. This also includes stories around the campfire. I go next Thursday for a week and a half and now i can't wait. Thanks Yukionna!!

we do alot of thing
Hubby does all the cooking while we're there....Luv that
Hiking,biking,Fishing,Swimming,atv...read books,color... play with our kids.Sometimes if theres other people around we might get a valley ball game going and drunk a few.......Enjoying the activity that LBL has going on.Then at night when the kids are in bed. We enjoy sitting around the camp fire and talk and enjoy the Peace and quite.
We just like to go to spend times with the kids and friend with out tv,playstations, computer or the phone ring all day.
P.S If it rains we do nothing just lay around and watch movies then. The only time the kids can agree on anything....lol

I want to fly fish
& fish some more.
Then I want to eat some trout for dinner. Don't have to be big ones. Actually brookies are best.

Well as a family we like to find swim holes...there are some awsome spots in VT...if we are at the beach I like to get out my metal detector and hunt while everyone is swimming or kayaking.

". . .talk of poems and prayers and promises and things that we believe in. . ."
Campfire has to be my favorite time of all, especially when extended family and family friends are gathered around in camp too. Or especially when just Max and I are there, quiet, laughing, remembering other camps and planning new ones. Yes, campfires are tops with us. ~G

Depends on where i am generally.
If i am at the Coast i will go to the aquarium and for a seafood lunch. I like to ride my bike in the parks at the beach as well.
If im in eastern Oregon, sitting around reading and drinking beer is the order of the day.

Good one! Meeting other Airstreamers is always fun. I have also noticed the "long lost friend" treatment more so with Airstreaming than with any other common interest thing I do in life.

I put "other" because I could not decide between several of the answers. Then there is the "fixing Chummy" so we can get back home. Our joke is how long can we be out before I need to get my tool box from the closet. But that is the joy of a vintage Airstream.
Other enjoyments are planning the next trip; visiting with fellow campers; playing board games; attending Sunday church services in new churches; and being with my grandson.
