What do you like about the forum?
I saw 2air's post about "it's Thursday and I like by Airstream because.." and it got me thinking about this forum and all the things I like about. So, I'm starting a thread to see what your favorite part(s) of the forum are. I'm sure I left something out in my little poll so feel free to elaborate further in a post.
BTW, my most favorite feature is the photos that change at the top of the portal whenever I go to the portal. Normally, I wouldn't sit around and browse the photo section but every day there is always an interesting photo that pops up that I just have to go off and see more in that person's photo album. Great idea!

Hi Yukionna; Learning, learning and learning, something one cannot get enough. It is free, and based on real experience at cost of others.

I also browse those pictures especially when I recognize someone or an Airstream I know - it's like wow, that looks familiar. I sent a quick note to one of the photo albums poster's, and lo and behold it was David Winick. He has PM'd me on occasion with some interesting news and photos. The Forums have just become a daily routine, checking problems and unique solutions, gathering info and getting an overall sense of the health of the Airstream community.

Not all internet forums are as good as this "Airstream Forums" site.
I guess this is an excellent model and an example of another beneficial product resulting from our nation’s initiatives together with individual efforts, educational goals, and corporate incentives in computer and communications technology. It expands our freedom of expression.
Oh yea, the question: What do I like about the forum?
The vast knowledge base out there and the fast response to all kinds of questions. Also the opportunity for anyone to express some thoughts, ideas and offer help.

It's the people and how they respond to others in such helpful way, and show real interest in our common addiction, that makes the forum a great place to go for a bit of sanity. I feel like I'm living in a neighborhood of incredibly nice, helpful, enthusiastic people who just happen to be electronic neighbors versus living next door. Barry

Organized
Not only is there alot of information here but it is organized and easy to find due to the infrastructure using sub-forums, tabs, portal, etc. I belong to other forums and email lists and find this particular forum format far easier to use when it comes to navigation and for finding archived information.
Also, we have to remember that this forum's success is not only due to its infrastructure but also due to the efforts of Andy and his volunteers (i.e., moderators) who work tirelessly to help maintain the forum and its parts and pieces.

I'll have to "Ditto" JStanley's response to the question as answered in his last paragraph. As a newbee this forum was a wonderful source of information and helped get us off in the right direction. While I've made some mistakes on the road through the school of hard knocks, other mistakes have been prevented by learning from others here. Thanks to all. You're the best!

I love seeing what my fellow Airstreamers are doing. My wife says I'm addicted! O well, at least it isn't bad for my health!

It's a great way to socialize when you are stuck for the long haul - Canadian Winters!
I feel safe at this forum - and would trust any and all of you to visit our place! Hopefully not all at once.
Wealth of knowledge and just a great place to hang out

The wealth of information that is available here. I used it before and since purchasing our trailer. Worth every penny; oh wait it's free!
Also we have gone on four forum rallys and had a blast. Not one member we didn't like and get along with. Must be something about all that aluminum.

Interesting poll results so far!
Restoration, socialization and photos are all running neck and neck with the highest numbers!
I have a funny story to tell. My hubby travels alot for business and he recently told me that when he can't get me by phone, he checks the forum to see if I'm around and that is where he usually finds me.

Well it started for the information at first, but now it's the social aspect. I've met a lot of neat people, and what's nice is I don't have to get up for early morning breakfast or wear a funny hat!

Nor do you have to get dressed up! You can reply while sipping coffee in your PJ's or while you are dirty and grimy from working on the A/S. No one cares what you look like!

I had to go with the first three. I did check the "other" also because some times I just need the support group aspect of this place.

One of the missing categories for the poll was road trips. I find this forum extremely helpful (due to its' membership and experience) when planning a trip to somewhere we have not traveled previously. This forum is great on many levels.

I voted Socialization because I am still hanging around despite selling my Airstream and going to a Sprinter campervan. There is still enough interest on Sprinters, internet access, camping life, road trips, etc. to make this forum interesting. But who knows? I may eventually buy another Airstream.

I also included karma in my vote. It's fun to dish it out.
