Today I finished cleaning up my mess in the front yard, from my tree falling project the other day. Once I low stumped the remains of the tree, and made some cross cuts in the top of the stump. I than used this chemical power, (from Home Depot), that you place in the cuts along with water, that accelerates decomposition of the stump...6 to 8 weeks.

waxin

FINALLY got around to putting the rear deck lid, license plate bracket/light, and bumper back on after an extensive strip and paint effort. But all the old paint is off the bumper and deck lid, bracket and light fixture is all cleaned and painted, storage area is all repainted, (blue of course) and all back together.

Then...it seemed like a good day to wash and wax "Bud 99". Got it all washed, but only the back and street side got waxed. whew... Looks pretty good for a 27 year old huh? Of course, I am of the opinion that Airstreams are a lot like people...Late 20's are the prime of their life.

Time to settle in and watch the Redskins and Cowboys and then the last NASCAR race of the season!

29 Windows

Today we got an early start on spring cleaning and cleaned all 29 windows ... 29 more reasons why I wish I was full timing. Talk about a sore body and dry hands.

Nice Pics, casa38.... Looks very inviting.

It's raining here, with lots of vehicle accidents north of us along I-5. Interstate 5 was closed for hours yesterday, because of 9 different accidents...lots snow and ice.

The good news is, the Mt. Shasta ski area will finally open on Saturday, which is 1 hour north of our home.

I think it's a good day to make some soup, on a cold and rainny day in NORCAL...

Sounds like you're getting nice weather Mr. TOP... We are now 8" behind in precipitation for the year. I don't like the rain...but we need it, so we can enjoy a our local lakes...filled to the high water mark.

Hey Mr. 38... new tires for airstream or tow vehicle?

I see that you tow with a Toyota Tundra, any issues or problems? I'm looking for a new tow vehicle..."Down the Road", and thinking about going with a gas fueled pick-up truck. I don't really trust what the car companies say. I would rather hear from someone, (like you), who has towed with the vehicle in question.

PS... my diesel truck is leaking fuel again, (2000 Dodge 2500)! I think it's a crack in the plastic fuel pump that is in the fuel tank, (I replaced it 7 years ago). Once it stops raining, I'll drop the tank and take a look. Or, I may try to perform a "low pressure air" test on the tank, and see if I can locate the leak with a mirror, without dropping the tank, (if I can get Indian Mike to help me...he is a heavy duty truck mechanic).

It's raining hard...so I'm not doing much today....

Well, it is a long story but the tires are for the trailer. I bought new Carlisle ST's not too long ago and had them put on the wheels that came with the trailer. (from the PO) But I constantly have trouble with them losing air. Then I read many of the threads about tires, had Bob Thompson and Rednax visit one day and decided to move up to 16inch BF Goodrich Commercial TA's. Bob's thread titled tires, tires, tires is a must read! Naturally that means new wheels to go with them and of course that means I may as well put some centramatics on at the same time...whew... $$$$$ Axle seems ok so I should not have to mess with it just yet.

But I think I have it all figured out now so I guess I will order it all this weekend.

I really like my Tundra. It is a 2010 crew cab with tow package, (be sure to order the tow mirrors) and off road package, (you need the off road package on these horrible Corpus Christi Roads) It is rated to tow 10,400 lbs. I load up the back of the truck and the back seat before we head out and it is fine. Mileage with the trailer is not great. 11mpg on average I guess. But it has a lot of room inside and with the crew cab (4 full doors) you have storage behind the rear seat. Not like that on the ones with shorter rear doors. It rides so much better than the other trucks I have had. Pretty comfy really. I guess it gets down to the size and weight you are going to pull. I have never had a diesel but secretly always wanted one..

Now, back to the thread... Today I came home from work and cut the grass. going to be a weekend of catchup so we can leave again soon!!

Good luck TREX (end of year sales seem to be everywhere right now) chuckle
