Pacific NW

I'm not native to the PNW and have lived here for only 7 years. We have great mountain and ocean scenery and wonderful summers. I usually only have to turn on the AS's A/C just to see if it still works. Forty-five degrees and rain in January is not bad, but when it lasted until June, it was too much for me. This year I am heading to SoCal/AZ (Yuma & Quartzsite) after Christmas for some vitamin D. That is if I can get over Grants Pass, OR in January. Some people Airstream (verb) up here in the winter (example: J5MM) but I will wait until Airstream (noun) comes out with a built-in wood burning stove.

Watching NFL football on free TV in Rita, and plan to start a burn pile... so I get to enjoy two of my favorite things in life. Burn yard slash and watch the 49ers win another game...hopefully!

My daughter wanted to use one of my airstreams to tail gate at the Georgia game, but somebody told me they don't allow trailers. I really don't know what the University of Georgia's policy is.

In the Airstream this weekend
I Plugged some old screw holes with wood putty. We put the one twin back together an put the mattress on it.
I took the other twin and completely rebuilt it today. It is stained and ready to be Polyurethaned. I also have a AC wire for my hotwater heater that is dead. I spent most of the morning trying to trace it. No such luck.

At UGA the RV parking is out by the intramural fields I believe.
Uga tailgating is on the list...maybe next year.

LOL... I saw c_lewis77's post at the South Carolina/Florida game and said to my wife, "We should go to a Georgia game sometime that way." (I went to UGA for grad school.) Then I scrolled down and saw these posts.

A quick search of their websites doesn't say anything about trailers not being allowed that I could find.

Replaced the dual shower valves I put in last year with a marine Scandvik single lever mixing valve in the Tin Pickle's shower. This unit makes the temperature much easier to control, particularly at low "boondocking flows". Also tracking down a short in one of the DC circuits, and working on a design for a new overhead LED light.

Hey 50KIP. I grew up in the PNW and last year's rain until June did me in too! So I'm lookin' to head south in January also. Those darn passes have me worried but dang it, I'm just as stubborn as they are snowy! Keep me posted if and when your headed south and maybe we can caravan with Michelle from Montana. Ciao!

Went to the gym. Ordered our free range turkey from New Seasons. Had lunch and went home for a nap. Tough day. Will probably repeat tomorrow, except order the turkey. Maybe we will head to Costco.

Today - received new table leg and travel towels (that are actually bid enough to dry you off!) - Yeah, showering and eating are favorite activities both in the airstream and at home! I dreamed of our next trip while receiving three injections for arthritis....a little pain for more travel time it's a no brainer

Today I cut down a tree that was dying in the front yard. Very sad to take the tree down, but a rotten limb was making it a hazard to the house and anything below it's fall line. I would like to replace it with an apple tree... once I remove the root system.

Today I finished cleaning up my mess in the front yard, from my tree falling project the other day. Once I low stumped the remains of the tree, and made some cross cuts in the top of the stump. I than used this chemical power, (from Home Depot), that you place in the cuts along with water, that accelerates decomposition of the stump...6 to 8 weeks.

waxin

FINALLY got around to putting the rear deck lid, license plate bracket/light, and bumper back on after an extensive strip and paint effort. But all the old paint is off the bumper and deck lid, bracket and light fixture is all cleaned and painted, storage area is all repainted, (blue of course) and all back together.

Then...it seemed like a good day to wash and wax "Bud 99". Got it all washed, but only the back and street side got waxed. whew... Looks pretty good for a 27 year old huh? Of course, I am of the opinion that Airstreams are a lot like people...Late 20's are the prime of their life.

Time to settle in and watch the Redskins and Cowboys and then the last NASCAR race of the season!
