EDIT: Ah, I see in another thread... they're SUPPOSED to have power but there was an outage. How long was the outage? Is the furnace really THAT power-hungry?

Today I spent an hour waiting on a Canadian General to show up for a briefing. When he arrived and they started the briefing, I was looking at Airforums on my phone. Then when I finished for the day I came home to work on Abby for a few hours. It is cold in Texas this evening. That's why there is a fire in the fireplace!

Hey Rex, hope your BS levels subside! Today I finished up on sealing the seams of Abby's windows. After that, I grilled some pork chops and acorn squash.

Then I was looking at my rock guard, thinking about how Rex told me to "kiss and make up" with someone. Well Rex, do you still think I should do that?

Went to see a Johnny Depp movie, watched the Redskins lose...again...and continued stripping many layers of paint off the rear storage area and rear bumper. Not too much more to go and I can paint the inside of that storage area and shine the outside.

and first step was to remove the water filter for the kitchen faucet. Rather than it pulling out of the canister cover, the filter came completely apart. Nothing like carbon sludge all over to start the job...

I rebuilt the kitchen faucet in the Tin Pickle today - 6 new o-rings, 2 new washers, no more crud - and no more leaks . I also managed to replumb the city water inlet that sprang a leak on the way out to Burning Man... had to use our water pump at Jackson last month. The thermostat is back in and the air conditioning works again - strong possibility of camping w/ folks w/ a diesel generator at Burning Man; sleeping in until noon will be possible .

Once the 3/8" BSSP to NTP adaptor arrives, I'll replace the two valve shower setup I built w/ a Scandvik single lever shower control from a boat... the water is seriously hot, and the two controls are just not precise enough at low flow rates.

Wow Laura...what a bummer! Looks like you got a mess on your hands.

Today I'm removing the old carpet padding in our bedroom. This afternoon, I will learn to install new carpet & padding. Also, The Bunny sanded & painted my old dresser. So, we're storing the drawers in Rita, our Airstream, to keep them out of the dew point mornings. Hope to get the dresser out tomorrow, so Rita will be really for a quick RV trip to Rolling Hills Casino next weekend.

After my radio show this morn, I came home and ran the Wolverine traps. Had 11. My grandson Sam helped me load them into the truck. The hard part is tonight I 'm going to have sort 'em from the traps by sex. My welder's gloves will definitely come in handy. Tomorrow we plan to trim the moose's hooves. I will take a couple of days off until Friday. That's when we neuter the Coyotes with fingernail clips. Man, I cant wait til we get back to simply trimming the hawk's feathers. Country life? Cant beat it. Just be sure you have a lifetime membership down at the dadgum blood bank.

I replaced the hitch mechanism on my beloved '62 GT AS 'Bubbles' this morning. She can now be moved from the neighbors yard into our driveway because [B]I FINISHED THE GARAGE[B] Driveway still needs a couple of loads of gravel but that can wait. My bum hurts from spending so much time on the roof screwing it all down, metal, ya know, with ridges, 1500 screws. Hubby doesn't do heights.
I think tomorrow I will erect the car shelter with the long and short poles reversed so that Bubbles will fit in. I am going to have to figure out a way to secure it down because we get some big winds. It has blown away three times, even screwed to honkin' railway ties (took the ties with it). I have tried great big earth screwy-type anchors (with railway ties over top) and concrete shelter blocks, nothing works. I think leaving both ends open will probably do the trick, along with all other methods combined, and a few new innovations. Glass-half-full person that I am, sooooo optimistic.
Bubbles will get the full monty in the spring, Brazilian lift first, then on to face lift. I can't wait for our first rally.

Are you serious??? I have had days like that, but not with quite as much wildlife.Usually I just get chased by the moose.
