What can be better than this?

We just had a very Merry Christmas with some (not all) family. tonight we treated our beautiful grand daughter - who just earned her Bachelors degree and her career army husband to dinner and a movie out. We stayed home with their 3 year old twins.
We did popcorn and milkshakes for dinner. Followed by the Lion King II and then Peter Pan. Then mom and dad came home and they had to get the twins to bed. Love it.

Not very much can be better than that. That describes one of life's finer moments.

So, so true.

We consider it one of the greatest joys and privileges of our lives to be able to have our grandchildren with us, at our home or on the road. They seem to feel the same way.

Happy to come stay with us at any time, absolutely beside themselves at going with us anywhere in the Interstate. Road trips are becoming longer and more frequent as they get older.

It also gives those parents a welcome break from the demands of full time parenting, but we never think of it as "babysitting".

Pure, unadulterated joy.
