We evaluated Contribute about a year ago. Seemed to be a good solution for a small shop or consulting agency but required a lot of care and feeding. Not exactly a full blown Content Management and Code Management solution but good enough for many mid-sized business sites.

jcanavera - I don't think you can import from PDF into FP. Try converting this into an image using Photoshop.

It's not necessary to import PDF files to your web page like you would with a GIF file or JPG file. Just create a link to it on your page with Front Page and place the PDF file in the same directory as your other files.

Make sure the Adobe file name ends in ".pdf" so the visitor's browser will know it should launch Adobe Reader (if necessary).

Has anyone heard of StudioLine Web build from H&M Systems Software, Inc.? I have a friend that just sent me a "first-time ever" page he built and it's pretty nice...not sure if it's template based or ???

I'm not looking to change form HomeSite right now and if I do, it will most likely be to DreamWeaver, however I am curious about what all is out there...

I've just performed a few Microsoft updates on my laptop and all of a sudden the best part of Homesite (the design tab) locks up the entire program! I suspect that it is an Internet Explorer update, but I'm not sure. I don't even use IE, but it is an intregral part of Homesite in some way and now the program no longer works properly. Maxi-bummer-drag!

So...I thought I'd revive this ol' thread, to see if anything new is out there that I should consider. Right now I am checking out Nvu Version .08 (the Windows version) it's a freeware beta product that my husband has been using on his Linux machine...I really don't waht a 'gee-whiz' program with lots of the bells & whistles, but the WYSIWYG features are awful nice to have. I'm also still considering Dreamweaver, but hate to pay $399 for a program if I can don't have to.

I'm not a programmer just a hobbiest, so I'm not going to sit down & read a manual cover to cover, that's for sure, it has to be pretty intuitive and there's no way I want to be limited to templates (have you seen my webpages?)...so any suggestions?

Shari
