Washday Blues...

.... 2Day started with a BANG, when the washin machine decided 2do the high jump, I guess water got in2 the places where it aint gotta go, so that was our 3rd washer in 4 years... always happens when the warranty jus expired... ( *"_+&=-^ ) So after cleanin up the mess & restorin power & kikin the washer around the yard a few times...LOL, My Quest 4a replacement began, no big deal... but in England, it's a nightmare gettin anything sorted with in a few days at least, I rang 8 companys, NO joy, I spotted a small ad, in the yellow pages, & rang 2 enquire the types & costs of His machines, I jus happend 2 mention My D/W liked the American top loader, & guess what, He had one, a Whirlpool, a lttl more expensive, He got it, 'cos He done a trade with a lady who said it was 2 BIG 4 Her new kitchen, it is only 5 months old... Well 2 cut it short, it was bought installed, with 12 month warranty, inc: fittin delivery & the old one taken away.... All in 3 hours... Now thats what I call service, & I gotta MOAN free day 2 morrow... Chris.....

Well Chris you made out better than my last appliance replacement! I bought a big shiny Stainless Steel gas grill for a general Father's Day gift for the men around the place. Dragged it home and shoved it under the shed overhang. Went out on Sunday to put it together, opened the box and said hmmm, looks like about a 3 beer job went to the fridge to get a couple of cold ones, only problem is the aren't cold quick check with the multi meter tells me the fridge compressor has locked up fridge is about 18 years old and not worth fixing...so off to Lowe's to pick out a new on...4 hours and $750 later new fridge. What took so long is the hole in the kitchen where it has to go is a certain size and most of the ones we looked at were too big. Then there was the issue of top or bottom freezer, what color, ice maker or not, water in the door, etc, etc.

Poor U...

Aaron... Well jus shows U why We jus bought an American washer,if U got 18 years outta Yr fridge...LOL...U done well... Shame on the BEERS tho...,
Yes when our 8 yr old fridge freezer bit the dust We opted 4 split untis, We got a Box freezer & a Fridge, with the washer it sits at the end of the units, I am surprised it's the same height as our sink unit, but abt 4inches wider & longer... but it's a dream, it realy is, makes a Chug-Chug noise, & if U 4get 2 put an iten in, U jus open the lid & drop it in...I jus hope it sees us OK ! LOL... Tell U wot tho, the Guy who sold it 2 us seemed OK, I'll find out tho if it packs up within the 12 months, We used a small company for millions of years, but when Mr. Senior retired & let His Son Mr. Junior take over... He was'nt the same, He jus did'nt seem interested with what We had 2 say , not like His Father, He would put Himself out & visit us a few months on, 2C if the appliance He sold us was OK... it's only a lttl point, I kn, BUT, but it goes a long way, it's a shame Junior did'nt follow in His Fathers footsteps, or He must have bn at the back of the Queue when manners were given out...SIGH
$750, wow must B some real Mean machine of a fridge...LOL, naturaly it Chills the Buds jus right... or would that b ROOTS...Chris.....

Chris, if your Whirlpool lasts as long as our last one, you may be retired before it poops out. Ours was built in 1978, and I only replaced it because the timer wouldn't change from wash to rinse, had to do the switch by hand. Current one is 4 years old, and still going strong.
How do you handle the higher voltage electric on the machine? Is it modified to run on the higher juice? You do have 240 volts in GB, right?

... Well Overlander63, there IS a big followin of Modern American household things, right now, everyone wants Your appliances...LOL, I'm gonna tell U somethin now, back in '94, I put in for a 3week time out, I was asked Y I needed so long 4a Holiday, Im off 2 AMERICA I said... WOW, I was granted My request, on My return, I was kinda shunned, mayb they 4rt I was a SNOB... 4 goin 2 the States... I don't wanna ever 2 Europe, tho it IS on My doorstep...so We came bk in '95, '97' '00. '02, '05 plus Boston Mass: 2 times, & HAVE booked Boston March '07... now through those Years I must have told some great stories, 'cos now U'll B surprised jus how many of My work mates have been 2 Your wonderful Land, I kn of 8 so far..., Yep U could say I'm a kinda Ambassador...LMAO, I get asked all sorts, I ALWAYS give My bestest HONEST answer, 5 of those people have returned further times. One Femail I kn, got so fed up with Her Fridges blowin She bought a Whirlpool, 6 years ago, & is still like new, Yr products sell themselves...they R so GOOD, hence us Brits can't get enough of Yr top quality stuff... Yes they R specialy converted 2 our voltage either at Yr side of the pond, or an specialist autherised dealer on this side of the pond, I'm sorry 2 admit it, but I'll nvr buy a another regular piece of crap again, there r 7 of us here, inc PUPPY... so our domestics get some hammer...if U kn wot I mean, this new tub takes twice as much clothes as our old one did, & it takes a lot less time 2 DO, We always used one in the the villas We stop in, & D/W loves them, so easy 2 use & realy gets the clothes clean... but it IS a lttl noisier tho, kinda CHUGG-CHUGG... BUT I can live with that...Fanx 4 the kind words, so I gotta 12 years or more b4 I retire... LMAO...Chris.....
