walts r.v. has closed

f.y.i.,walts r.v. in ocala,fl has closed shop.they shut down in february.walt said it was due to someone complaining about all the airstreams being parked there by his house,and the zoning board made him close. they threw away tons of old,hard to find parts in a landfill.

That's very bad news. It has been a pleasure to do business with Walt. He is a gentleman. I hope he resumes elsewhere.

Walt's retired now.I hoped one of the other guy's would start up a new shop,but they were not interested.I stoped by there alot,as they were 15 miles or so from me.

What happened to all the trailers?

Walt was ready to retire a couple of years ago, but decided to stay for a couple more years. He is a member of our WBCCI unit (Florida Springs), and is a great guy, and would go the extra mile for his customers.

The airstreams he had there were mainly customers.Walt had a couple he owned for sale,as far as I know,he sold them.

Walt did all of my work for me. I was his last customer when he decided to finally close up shop. He was a great guy to deal with and I will personally miss his advice and help with my AS. I know he is headed to Alaska this summer and I hope he has a great trip. The zoning board in Ocala over reacted to his operation as far as I am concerned. He had more than enough property to do his work. Such is life I suppose. Enjoy your retirement Walt, you earned it.

Walt's fingerprints are all over my Sovereign -- he replaced two corner panels, the A/C, redid the clearcoat.........

The workmanship was superb and he was an easy fellow to deal with.

I hope he has some big fun now that he has the time.

This is sad. We bought our first Airstream from Walt. We bought it sight unseen on Walts word. Being that we had to travel from MN to FL to buy the trailer we were a bit concerened.We were treated great and the trailer was better than advertized. Sorry to hear he's not in business anymore. Good luck to Walt.

It's always refreshing to hear of a businessman with the kind of reputation that you all refer to. I know there are others, but they are few and far between.

But what now? Is there any other place near Ocala Florida that provides service comparable to Walt's?

I ask Walt the same question last time I spoke to him. He said that the Airstream Dealer just north of Gainesville was the guys to go to if I needed to have repairs done. He has high praise for them. I have not had to use them so I can't say how good they are. Has anybody had any experience with them? I tend to take Walts word as gospel but I was just wondering...

We had a water heater stop heating a day we were travelling past Gainesville in Jan. We called Sanders, They said bring it in and they would look at it. In less than 30min we were on the road again, with the hot water problem fixed.

We would certainly go there again.
