hey guys,put this in goggle seach."ATLAS MOBILE HOME MUSEUM".THIS SITE HAS LITTLE TO DO WITH MOBILE HOMES,BUT HAS TONS OF TRAVEL TRAILER ADS AND PICS FROM AROUND 1900,S TO MID SIXTIES.(opps forgot cap lock was on) there are a few airstreams.a lot a strange trailers from the past,like two story,expanding sides,and a few over 50" long.i learned that people from the 40's to the 60's lived in these as homes due to housing shortage.see ya!!
I can't believe it.... the 1962 Vagabond is the one I went through the hurricanes in here in Lake Worth. 2 in 2004 and one in 2005. Not in it now, but a buddy of mine bought it and is living in it today...... Tell ya what, it was built!!! Even had the taillights!

That was a great site. I remember that the local university had two of the Palace fold out units we called them triple wides and at least a dozen of the Travelo Defense trailers left over from WWII. They remained on until the construction of a Student Union in about '63'. Dad bought the entire lot and moved them to 5 acres on Sand Creek in Wyo. The intent was to set up a camp ground along with a U catch trout farm. I had the great joy of spending two summers there. Dad sold the property and the camp ground was never completed. Last time I drove by I see a neighbor had made a camp ground right next to the property Dad had.
