Vantage by Thor...

Looks like Thor is going to take a 'crack' at a glass-bodied 'Airstream-like' Trailer via the Keystone name...Vantage...kept under secret wraps until yesterday' s introduction...

If you check out the video, there's no mention of the 'Airstream connection' but the similar shape can't be denied...

It's about time.
you know me Ray, composites rule, a 33 footer that weighs 6500 lbs. sounds good to me, vacuum bagged end caps. nice.
Now I can start using all the carbon fiber I've been hoarding to build my proto type composite drainpipe for kayaks. lol.
Progress thru technology is way cool.

I thought it was interesting that they'll be going down to 20' models eventually. Not really sure if this looks good or not - seems kinda low too...

Here's a link with more pics...

New Keystone "Vantage" Trailer - iRV2 Forums

Looking at the add'l pics, it looks like Thor has done their homework and placed all the trailer's appliances with outside access (furnace, refer, water heater, etc) on the Port (street) side wall - a great idea, IMHO!

I wonder how the Vantage's outside storage works out...We'll have to wait for them to get their web site updated with new product...

The straight on picture that shows the "droopy" sides makes it look like it melted in the sun. Airstreams don't melt. (Well not until over 1000F at least).

I'll wait to see the inside of one before I judge. Interiors seem to be where most RVs come up short.

Seems a little short-sighted to have a product announcement without any info or photos on their Web site. I think they missed a good marketing opportunity, or maybe they are just building suspense. However, I think they are missing the boat by letting the initial press release pass, without immediately following up with a big photo spread and product details online.

Thanks for the link to the iRV2 forums. Interesting to read the semi-snide comment about "the rounded trailer folks" and aerodynamics. Jealousy?

The more I look at the pictures, I can't get Shamu out of my mind. Wish that front window panel was smoked something-or-another rather than a solid panel with the Vantage name on it. And they should have parked it on more level ground; it looks pretty uneven/high in the back, eating up clearance...
