I notice there is, as yet, no pics of the streetside.

As for being "aero" the front cap is okay. But the lack of sidwall radius at the upper corners make this trailer a non-starter in my mind. Independent suspension would make a difference, and it would be nice to see the lay-out of the tanks. The Super Slide might also make for some interesing numbers on the scale, side-to-side. This is a park-it-at-the-lake trailer, not a run-it-down-the-road trailer.

The lack of windows is bad. That bedroom may be big, but it "feels" like a hotel room of the wrong kind. Okay for the television addicts.

I don't see redeeming factors, so, like the post above, this appears to be meant to appeal to owners of Tahoes who don't like SWB's.

Typical boring THOR interior,
Awning too small, does not cover rear door.
Rubber roof, that won't fly.
The grey exterior would get old to me fast.

The styling reminds me of a early 80's Londonaire trailer from Newmar.

Airstream has nothing to worry about.

No, no, no-- I hear it's got some "innovative" and "ground-breaking" technology: Henschen Dura-Torque axles. They apparently never need replacement....

Troy Nusbaum, Product Manager for Keystone's new Vantage responded to my inquiry about more info:

"We had a very successful unveiling last week here in Indiana and we're eagerly anticipating our first production units in mid October. You can expect to see more information on our website closer to that time frame."

We were traveling on US in Colorado today and I saw a truck pulling a white trailer with rounded corners coming toward us. "Is it a Vantage on a secret test drive?" I wondered. It was a horse trailer.

Maybe they will eventually make a 'toy hauler' model so one can carry their mechanical 'horses'...

I saw a grey Vantage being being towed down the interstate two days ago ; talk about an ugly trailer ! Looks like something a FEMA committee designed.

Wasn't the first time bad enough?

Considering the fact the Airstream factory and repair facility don't bother talking to each other and they're side by side it's probably easy to assume that the various Thor brands don't either.

Nah, think I'd pass on this one. If they had continued the exterior walls over the top (Roof) is might be worth a consideration. Too many friends with SOB's and rubber roofs. You can never get the exterior clean, cuz rubber is always deteriorating (as per design) If you like white streaks, I say "Go for it"

Vantage - Choice is Good

I would expect criticisms of the Vantage at this forum but I'm not sure the Vantage is as bad as noted. I'm still studying all the trailers (I do like the Airstream else I wouldn't bother with this forum) however visiting the Vantage website it looks pretty impressive. The rubber roof and streaks a problem? I don't know. How does that compare to the million complaints about the much worse leaks and rotting floors of the AS?

As units are built, no doubt some refinements will probably take place. Remember not all TT shoppers are infected with the Airstream mystic so they will indeed consider the Vantage. Like anything, if it is priced right it'll sell and at the current sky high AS prices, how can it not beat the pants off Airstream? I hope it does, 'cause I like new and down the road I want a more affordable, viable choice.

I'm happy that Thor Industries has the financial muscle and dealer network to make it happen. Choice it good.

Thor has cheapened the build quality of Airstreams over the years and that must have hurt sales as this fact is frequently mentioned here. Airstreams are Thor's premium product, so imagine what the Vantage build quality will be like.

Quality costs a lot in the short run. Airstreams cost what a quality product would, but don't deliver. If I were to look for a trailer now, I'd consider Airstream because they are so cool, but looks aren't everything. I'd also look at other brands that have a better reputation for quality.
