It'd look better if they removed the cheesy "Vantage" logos plastered all over it. What is the deal with SOB graphic design?

Please, no slide-outs! Hate 'em. Otherwise, VERY interesting.

I hope Thor does well with this one. It looks a lot better than most trailers out there.

Fiberglass body is easy to conrtrol leaks. My brother in law has a new casita which the largest they make is a 17' footer with similar construction. If the vantage has rubber roof that would be the only detractor, those do not hang in there long term.

What is up with the 70s style long windows on the doors! The last thing would be price point?

Come on Peter "the whole look is revolutionary"
Look what you get when you add a curve shape to a straight line box.
What's next,vacuum-bonded siding for the classic Airstream?

I wonder if Thor thinks this could cannibalize Airstream sales. Or maybe, as long as the money keeps coming in somehow from any one of their brands, they just don't really care...

I love the long windows, especially the stacked ones next to the door. Why do I get the feeling that while the outside is modern, the inside is a mix of fluffy curtains and brown/tan/white swirly velour?

I really hope that's not so Tom... but sadly, I think you're right about the interior. I'd love to see a modern Euro look to the inside... heck, they could rotocast the cabinets at the same time!

Has anyone found more pics of it?

Hi, Tom

Just to let you know- that was me talking over at IRV2.
I was being snide, but not about Airstreams...
I was talking about the fiberglass trailer crowd, which in my opinion is the target market for this trailer. If I've heard "aerodynamic superiority" there once, I've heard it a thousand times...
Airstream never crossed my mind when I looked at the "Vantage", especially when the release talked about the "sweetspot" in the market!
I think the "sweetspot" is aging fiberglass RVers that want a few more amenities than typically available, while keeping the same "look".

I think the only reason it has rounded corners is because it is easier to mold that way. I don't know that for a fact, but it makes sense to me. It doesn't remind me of an Airstream, just another one piece trailer. It is very white.

I thought Keystone was Thor's least reliable brand (sort of like Keystone is Coor's cheap beer).

Thanks for coming on and clarifying that, and my apologies for my assumptions.

That would be an interesting market segment - but is it large enough for Thor to go through all the trouble? I'd also expect that the 17-foot Casita folks who want to upgrade would be more interested in something shorter than the initial prototype - or they would have bought a Bigfoot...

Vantage Interior Pictures

I found these pictures of the interior of the new Vantage.
They are part of a collection of pictures of new trailers.
The Vantage pictures are at the bottom of the page.

I like what I see here. Wonder if this will ever make it to the market?

Just another Airstream wannabe, or at least that's what it looks like.

At first glance, it looks like a monorail and a shuttle bus had a baby. No thanks...

Airstream & Vantage: Competition and Choice

Is it possible the Vantage will siphon off sales of the Airstream, sure. I don't doubt Thor has considered this carefully. It will be interesting to see how the units are priced. Keep in mind the difference between another Airstream wanna be is the financial resources of Thor Industries. It will enable the Vantage to continue long enough to catch on. Thor's existing dealer network in place is an important consideration for its viablilty as well.

Airstreamers, don't be afraid and negative. It is simply an alternative choice for those in the 'looking to buy' stage. Buyers will vote with their dollars. If the Vantage measures up great. Buyers will always benefit from competition and choice.
