...........Saw a 34 foot , 1994 Classic Limited, immaculate condition , fully loaded , etc. for sale and was wondering what would a discerning potential purchaser should offer for a trailer assuming it is as advertised . thanks , r66

Well once you drive em off the lot they loose a bit of value. Now it's 10 years old. How are the axles and brakes, that will give you a good idea of the usage, how it has been stored and used. Got any pictures? That would sure help.

I think you would be somewhere between $20-25000 depending on condition. If it has been stored inside, then the clear coat may be in good condition. Ten years is about the limit for clear coat if the trailer has been outside the whole time. That is a $3500+ expense. It is not a widebody which started in 1996. But, it is a limited. I haven't looked at the nada. Look for dented panels, hail damage, stone dings, etc. Carpeting dirty & worn? drapes water stained? upholstery worn? Queen bed is preferred. Frig. & furnace if original are due for trouble. What type hitch. Has it had any tlc or has it just been used with minimal maintenance. If in florida, check for rusted frame. Full awnings? Any updates? Tires worn uneven indicating axle problems?

1993 was a bad year for clearcoat - should not be a deal breaker, just something to be aware of.

For a comparison, we bought our 30 foot '95 Classic Limited this spring for $19500 which we consider a fine buy. Like the one you describe, ours had been well maintained and had the Limited bells and whistles, in particular, beautiful cabinetry for a travel trailer, off set by added weight. The carpet had been replaced in the sofa/galley area by oak flooring. A common problem that yours may have, as did ours, is the sagging foam type ceiling covering of this vintage AS. This is just what happens and you have to decide if it is a bother. We have decided not to notice it and do not mind. Periodically, I press it all back in place, knowing it's going to come loose again! The clearcoat of ours is wearing and shows it in places. This we accept as well. We checked NADA and searched this forum and decided ours was a fair purchase. We feel she is not only lovely to look at, but also comfortable to travel and camp with. We love ours and suspect you would love this one you are looking at also. Big decision with lots of pros and cons to consider. Best wishes!

My furnace needed a gas control valve & a thermostat. Camping world was $250 for the valve and I did the thermo for $30. That is about half a new furnace if they are on sale. There is a control board that is $125 plus labor or a sail switch. Any one of these is going to be $175-250 installed.

My fridge needed a thermostat for elec operation at $185 +75 to install. The repairman at camping world told me to use it on propane only until it quits. He said average life is 7-10 years. Fridges will need control boards at $100 plus or they leak the ammonia. There are rebuilders at about $500 if you have a good looking unit with no other problems.

We own a 94-34 limited and yes the clearcoat could be better, but we would only trade for a newer (widebody) with a slide 2002 and up. It has served us well and I have enjoyed pulling and using it. Ours has been well maintained, go to kbb.com and look up the price its should be in the 20-25k range.
