USA Today stories on Airstreams

USA Today has done a couple of stories on Airstream and the people that love them. I happen to be one. Hope you enjoy the story! Here's the link.

For Airstreamers, it's one big 'silver family' - USATODAY.com

Enjoyed the article Paul!

Thanks

"Even though they cost an average of $50,000 and must be pulled by gas-guzzling cars and trucks, Airstreams are "so retro (they're) hip again," says Bob Wheeler, Airstream's CEO in Jackson Center, Ohio, the tiny town where 2,000 of the trailers are built each year."

Speech! Speech!

Nice article and be sure to check out the photo gallery.

Another quote from the article:
"Airstreaming is one of America's friendliest subcultures. It's the kindest cult I know," says Bruce Littlefield, author of Airstream Living.

Good day to all and you too Rob! What a great four day event, and Sandi and I could never thank everyone who made the first ever WBCCI Wedding Bells Rally so special for our special day! Yes Rob, your Trade Wind is in good hands! Now that we are back from our wonderful honeymoon in Maine I am back to work of it getting the plumbing ready for Grey Fox Blues Festival in NY. Since we will have our Airstreams in the middle of a cow field I better get some of the important plumbing done!

Again, thank you to everyone who worked so hard for making our wedding an event to remember for ever!

Great article. Thanks for posting it.

Did anyone else notice our own Titu Ahmed quoted in the article?

Great pictures. Looks like the Safari on picture 12 of 12 went around a curve to fast. Take a look at it.

Rich- Sandi and I always travel in the Fast Lane! Actually I didn't notice the wide angle distortion in that photo since I am drawn to my lovely bride and not our Safari when I look at the photo! Being a photographer myself (Airstream Life Magazine among others) you would think I would have picked up on that!

Great stuff!

You guys were great. "Quirky" is good!

Thanks newlyweds for sharing your story with the public and thanks Paul for sharing your "Aluminitis". It is contagious and we've come down with it too.

Best of luck Rick and Sandi

Sure did. Also quoted were "Myboyburt" (michelle), and "Mistral Blue" (Amanda...or maybe that's mrs. mistral blue...but I think they both post under the same moniker).

A couple of other "quote-ees" aren't active on the forums.

Funny thing about the "Hawaian Shirts"...I don't think that was planned; just a whole bunch of us had the same idea.

Thank you for all your best wishes! What was most important for us was that our Airstream Family was with us and we had a great time while creating a little WBCCI history all at the same time.

What a fun read on a sunny Monday morning. Thanks for sharing the article. Yep, we are a "unique" group of individuals for sure, and it would appear from the article that some folks are very photogenic as well.

Barry,
I am sure you are meaning Sandi and not myself!

Hey, if any of you got a copy of the paper, that's my boy, Jack, on the second page.

I had no idea his pic was in there yesterday when I last posted, because I'd only seen the pics on the website...which are different.

I picked up a copy on my way home last night...didn't look at it until I actually got in the house. I'd have bought an extra copy if I'd known.
(I did manage to find a left-over copy thismorning!).

Rick, I hope I can get a digital copy of that pic!
