I had the same thought when I first saw those pillows. A friend solved the problem for me - she bought me the Washington state dish towel from the same company. I embroidered all over the pre-printed towel, folded it over, sewed three sides, added stuffing, and voila! That project kept me busy for quite a while!

No West Virginia

Hello... I just called The Cat's Studio and asked where the West Virginia tea towel is and was told they did not have one for there because they thought they would not sell well... ... that sucks... will not get my business.... West Virginia is our second home..and it is almost heaven..

Sorry to hear about West Virginia. I think that's a call to design your own!

Here's how my Washington pillow turned out (and now my friend has given me a Montana towel, so it's back to work...)

Mel, are you there? I love your Washington State embroidered tea towel, and yes, two years later, I'm still thinking about this project. (Note: thinking, not yet doing!) You are probably an accomplished needleworker, but I am not. Did you follow any particular stitchery when doing the towel? I notice some areas are "broad" while others are more like lines or tracery. How did you determine embroidery stitches to use, to cover the larger areas neatly? I think I can figure out the lines and smaller areas, but I'm hesitant to begin and mess up the areas with more stitching required. What did you do? Thanks for sharing, if you don't mind! ~G

It did turn out very nice...as a matter of fact, I was working on my Colorado tea-towel-soon-to-be-pillow this last weekend - that's what reminded me of this thread. I'm almost done with mine - then on to the USA one. I plan on having them both done before spring...Birdy's beds will be done & ready for them later this month.
