Update on Jim Mickle

Many of us on the forums know Jim and Marianne Mickle. They have been to several rallies on their journeys back and forth to Florida, and most recently, the Moraine View Rally last weekend. Jim has been fighting a bone disease that has progressively gotten worse. Marianne has sent this update on June 15 to be posted.

"Jim's surgery is done - what a day - so far - up at 3 a.m. - a special bath - to the hospital by 5:30 a.m. - surgery at 7:15 a.m. - four hours later - he was in a monitored room in the cardiac area because of some flutters that happended when he was coming out of the sedation - we saw him about noon - stayed for about an hour and then came home. Sara and Doug are napping - I should be but wanted to let everyone know that it is done - the bone looks good - removal was about 6 inches above the ankle. We will be going back in a couple of hours to see him tonight."

Jim, if you are up and reading this, hang in there and hope to see you on the road again soon!

Serious surgery, but it is good news that the bone is good and Jim is doing well. We hope that everything from here on goes well and the traveling duo will again be back on the road in the months ahead. Jim and Marianne, we hope to see you at the Second Can Opener in January! God bless you both~G

Kathy, thanks so much for filling us in. I've missed talked to Jim and Marianne at the last two rallys I attended.

Jim, hope you have a speedy recovery. Marianne, take good care of him. Thanks.

Jim,

I hope you are doing well, my friend.
Really wished you could have made it to last year's Metro-Detroit Rally. I really enjoyed having you at the first one.
Marianne, try to get some rest. Take care of my buddy and please let all of us know how Jim is doing.
The entire Patterson Clan is praying for him. That's a lot of Irish people on their knees too!
Keep smiling!

Another Update for Jim Mickle

Heard from Marianne last night. Jim is in the ortho rehab now. They have placed a cast on the stump, and also made a cast of the right leg so that a brace can be made to keep that foot in better shape, especially since it will be his load bearing leg for a while. His spirits are good.

Keep the prayers going their direction!

Jim

I hope you have a speedy recovery - as an FYI, Jim had been a HUGE help in putting the Four Corners Unit together.
