Ultimate Tow Vehicle

I was at a classic car show in Springfield and ran into this thing. It's a Ford F-650.

It looks like it could tow anything hooked to it and do it without stopping for fuel very often.

Might be a wee bit oversized for our GT...

Yeah, and bounce all our rivets loose in the process! Bigger isn't always better ~

I am getting a much heavier truck than the one I have...more powerful too But I factored the cost of an air hitch into the calculations. I have seen the end result of towing an Airstream with a heavy truck AND bad axles...not a pretty sight unless you are planning on gutting it anyway.

What was the member's name -- came from east of Dallas if I recall -- towed with a semi tractor. The letter 'd' figured in his screen name if I recall...

I have had a passive interest in the Air Ride Hitch, since I am looking at moving up in TV GVWR capacity. Ohhh, my Nissan rides so nice... A recent post I won't try to find noted the Air Ride between his receiver & ball mount cause observable flexing that concerned the writer. I wish we had plenty of input on this topic!

if i were in the market for something of this type i think i would skip the ford in favor of the international cxt.

my bucket truck at work uses the same cab, very comfortable and has an excellent view of the road.

F-650

Only problem is that this truck isn't on Ford's consumer or commercial website. Is the box aftermarket or do you know where Ford publicizes it? It's an awesome truck. Is my drool perfectly clear?

There was a web-site on the mudflaps. I think this was it.

I hate you

Thanks a lot for getting this much closer to this truck. When I tell my husband what I want he will never forgive you and might come chasing after you. Tom

Don't forget the "overcompensation" factor ... anyone (well, any guy anyway) getting out of that thing would inevitably deflate the expectations of any watchers.
